Description: Guests expect nothing less than top quality when visiting a Swiss cheese restaurant in a grand hotel. Naturally, "saycheese!" In the Grand Hotel Zermatterhof offers all that and more. For the restaurant's young team, "saycheese!" Is a way of life. Everyone is in a good mood. The atmosphere is relaxed. The quality of the cheese is exceptional. All of the cheeses on the menu come from the Valais region, and this of course includes the exquisite Mutschli cheese from the "Zermatter Horu" cheese dairy. The chef recommends the Zermatterhof fondue, which is served either with champagne, with winter truffles or with porcini mushrooms.

Had a great time with our group of people. Plenty of food to go around and if more is needed, it was brought to the table quickly. Service was quick and friendly. Nice selection of items to dip in the cheese along with several wine choices.

We had a reservation at 6:30 p.m. and when we arrived we were the only ones there. We had the place all to ourselves for 75% of our meal which was so nice! For an app we split the goat cheese and mushroom salad; at first we were hesitant about the warm mushrooms with the cold salad but it worked very well together. We ordered the truffle fondue. We went through three phases with the fondue, at first bite the truffle was a bit overpowering, after a few bites we got used to the flavor and it was really nice, but about halfway through we were both over the same repetitive flavor. It likely had more to do with what we had to dip with...bread and potato. My only complaint is I wish they had more options to dip with. We ordered 2 servings (1 each) and we both agreed we could have easily only split 1 serving. The waiter was very attentive and very nice. So much so that we tipped him (although that is not really customary in Switzerland). I would definitely come back but would modify how much food I order!

If you want fondue, raclette, or cheese toast this is the place, because they don't have much else (yes, there are a couple of salads, soups, and a place of cured meats), but that's it.

I was surprised that they don't do chocolate fondue, just seems like if you did cheese, you would do chocolate as well.

We went to this restaurant for dinner on a busy Saturday night and did not have a reservation. The staff were incredible, they found a table for us and were super nice and friendly, we felt very welcome. They apologised for having a reduced staff on that particular night but they were so efficient that we didn't notice any problems, it really was an excellent service! Probably the best we've had in a few years of dining experiences in Switzerland.

The food was very tasty, we tried the different types of cheese in the Raclette, they were all delicious! The meals are also at an affordable price for Switzerland standards, we paid around 70 CHF for two people (for a main course and drinks).

I would strongly recommend this place if you're looking for a restaurant in Zermatt with tasty Swiss food and great staff. The restaurant is small so make sure to book a table in advance!

I had dinner with my wife. We had one of the best fondue ever. It was a bit of a challenge to get a table, but we were lucky that Max-Jonas Behl took care of everything for us, including the reconnecting of the ideal stater and the wine. If you go there, all for him.
