Apartment is well situated for access to bus, tram, and rail. Easy to walk to restaurants and shopping and downtown Basel is within 15 minutes by public transit. The apartment is well equipped with basic appliances and the Nespresso machine is a plus. However, we found several shortcomings which were bothersome inconveniences including furnishings (sofa and living room chair) that are in need of cleaning and aren't at all comfortable, floors that creak loudly whenever you take a step, pots and pans that are warped and difficult to heat on an electric cooktop, and lack of any window coverings other than shutters. This apartment is also on the 3rd floor (counting by US standards) so it's a long haul up creaky stairs with shaky bannisters with luggage.
Very easy to get to once you work out that the no 16 tram leaves from the other side of the station from the airport bus.
its a lovely apartment, well furnished and equipped with everything you could want but the second bedroom hasn't got a door so privacy can be an issue. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony in the evening.
Trams into Basel are frequent and stop nearby. The main station is only a few minutes walk away with trains to everywhere you could want to visit. We chose it because it is near the station as a base to explore Switzerland
