There are some nice restaurants in Assisi, but most of the places offering snacks or light meals look tacky and unattractive so we were very pleased to find this little place. The owner was friendly and helpful and the room was lined with old cupboards and dressers all painted in a light blue, while the stools and tables were of plain unvarnished wood. A variety of local wines were stacked on shelves and also in an old disused fridge and wines were available for tasting.
Simple snacks were on offer and we had Torta di Testa, a local type of flatbread, stuffed with cheese and freshly sliced prosciutto and then heated. We all agreed this was delicious.
