This great hotel is right in the middle of everything, and in a beautiful building, and a great location: you can look out of your window to see if it is the best time to go for a gelato at Dondoli (there is always a line from 11 am to 4 pm), you can sit outside at the bar next door and watch the kids run and play by the well while we having a glass of wine and some tapas, everything to eat and shop is close by, and the best part is that you wake up and see that beautiful view of the plaza from your windows.
The staff was very nice to us, and the feeling of a historic building is all around, greatly produced and gives you a sense of pride to be staying here.
The rooms are huge, we travel with 2 children in strollers, and the room felt really big, we had a great night sleep.
The only reason for rating it 4 stars is that the decoration felt worn, but to be honest, you dont need anything else.
The morning we left it started to rain, so we tried to get a taxi to drive us to the parking lot, but you can´t get one if you dont book it in advance the night before, so we had to walk under the rain (a 5 minute walk), not a problem, we just bought rain coats in the store right in front of the hotel.

Situated right in the town square, you wake up to the bustling morning! The best gelato is right there as well as leather goods. Wifi and breakfast included with an assortment of choices of food to begin your day. Wonderful place; would stay here again!

What a nice hotel in one of the most beautiful parts of Italy, Tuscany. Our room (#36 as I recall) which we had for 4 days, had outstanding views of the lovely countryside out the French doors of the sitting room and the square from the bedroom where we could watch the daily activities. The town gets fairly busy with tourists during the day but by 6:00 pm things quiet down and walking to dinner or shopping is very enjoyable.

Did I mention breathtaking views! Our room was comfortably appointed and very spacious with a sitting room and fridge off the bathroom. As we found out most Italian beds are not what you would expect in the U.S. as they tend to be very hard which these were. But we slept very soundly.

The hotel staff were very friendly and offered several restaurant suggestions when I asked, all of which turned out to be perfect. Of our 2 week trip this was our favorite location due in part to the hotel and two day trips (Castello Di Verrazzano Winery & Il Vicario cooking school) which I'll provide a positive review on in the appropriate location.

Room tip: Our corner room was large with outstanding views.

We were greeted warmly at recemtion and managed to get into our room quite early which was wonderful. Comfortable clean and well appointed. Sunny breakfast room, very friendlt staff and a generally welcomin atmosphere. Lovely view over the valley. We will be back.

Room tip: Ask for a room overlooking the valley

Great location in the heart of the area, great view from the window if you pay extra. The standard room is like a college dorm room, so we upgraded to one with a view. The town becomes a ghost town after 7pm but crazy busy with people during the day. The rooms are tired and need upgrading, the beds and pillows are not comfy. I would not stay here again

Room tip: pay the extra and get a room with a view ....the view is beautiful

Dear Angela,

the room you booked was an economy room, not a standard room, and as also the name indicate it is a cheap room, so also simple. If you go to the restaurant and you order a salad you don't expect that the waiter would bring you a steak with truffles, isn't it? So why when you go to an hotel and you book an economy room, you expect a room with a panoramic view maybe also in the medieval square of San Gimignano?? Please before to book a room, make sure it's what you would like, the websites are very clear to explain what we offer in every rooms.
Regarding the pillows, you could request to the receptionist a more comfortable one, some guests like hard pillows, other soft pillows, we cannot know the personal needs if we don't know...
Regarding fornitures of the rooms, every year we update our hotel and our rooms, not all rooms every year but a big part of them, so that we can assure to the guests rooms updated nolonger than 2 or 3 years before.

Kind regards
The staff of Hotel Leon Bianco
