Two nights, actually not enough to fully enjoy the view and the place, location is outside the busy Ferenze, on a hill, Fresh air and astonishing view of the Dome.

Breakfast was normal, nothing special, the basics are there, staff is very helpful and friendly, free wifi is available and its convenient.

This should be your destination if you enjoy the comfort and relaxation places, downtown is one bus aways, around 15 min.

Enjoy the view..

An adorable little villa in the hills near Florence. Sweet smelling flowers greeted our arrival into a cute hotel. It's up a very narrow road that the bus couldn't reach, so we had to wheel the luggage about 100 yards, but no biggie. Cute rooms with gorgeous views. We woke up to sunshine and roosters every day as we looked out over the olive grove. A good breakfast. Very nice.

Almost perfect. Only 20 minute bus drive from the very center of Florence (San Marco bus No 7, 1€/ticket - taxi price 12-15€). Ideal for hot summer days: a naive view on Fiesole, cool rooms, helpful staff, even a small estuarine in100 m, and a lovely pizzeria in 700 m. Rooms are cool (it was 32 C - and I did not feel it though there is no air conditioning. A charming terrace to enjoy your breakfast. (No eggs!!! But wonderful freshly made cappuccino). Cheap and nice. Almost perfect rooms are a little bit outdated and small, the bathroom is of the late 80s - a renovation would help a lot!). But do not hesitate to spend a few days here for the best quality/ price in Florence.

Room Tip: Ask a double room facing East-north

Having a quite basic rooms, this hotel offer a good location to visit Florence, with a very good connection to the town centre through the public transport, and the possibility to enjoy the view from the Fiesole hill that is really nearby (also easily reachable via public transport). Breakfast is also quite basic but cakes and croissant are good.

Just beware that Florence is overrun with tourists all year round even in January. Villa La Stella is the ideal oasis to retreat to after a busy day in Florence. It is set in a secluded residential area on the way up to Fiesole. From there you have a great sunset & sunrise view of the City including the Duomo.
The rooms in the new section where we were are spacious and well appointed. They are well but not excessively heated in the winter. They serve a varied quality breakfast including gourmet pastries. The staff as others have already noted is very helpful. On top of that, the hotel offers free parking in a private yard and sells bus tickets to Florence so you don't have to drive your car into Florence. The bus stop in both directions is a short 5 minute walk from the Hotel. Lastly there are good dining options nearby if you go toward Fiesole.
A practical detail: the Hotel is on a private street that is unknown to any GPS. Set your GPS to "103 Via San Domenico, Firenze". It's the address of Enoteca 7 Rosso. The private street is about 100 yards before this restaurant at the beginning of the hairpin curve on Via San Domenico.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view on the Duomo
