We didn't book here but our hotel round the corner had the road up and clearly had sewage problems so they brought us here which was really good of them. Given the location it was a great price. The room was clean and all we did was sleep here so didn't need much more. Bathroom was Ok and breakfast the standard coffee and croissants (nowhere in Italy seems able to make tea!!).

This hotel really is the best location - 5 mins from the Accademia, 10 from the duomo and 15 from the uffizi! However, our stay itself was fairly average, the rooms were compact (which is to be expected given the location!) but breakfast wasn't bad. Not sure it was worth the price though!

We arrived in the afternoon, to find a staircase as the front façade of the hotel - We walked up a flight of stairs, which is where we found reception. An elderly man greeted us sourly, but we found it almost impossible to communicate as he spoke no English at all. We were located on the second floor - The room wasn't too bad..Quite small & dirty. We found the bed to be very uncomfortable and worst of all, we woke up with BEDBUGS, covered all over our bodies! In the morning, we were woken by loud thumps on the door, that continued until we got up & answered it. It was a woman from the hotel, who spoke very little English, asking for money for the room. Initially asking for 95€, however we had been quoted a total of 60€ per night and had already paid a 30€ deposit. We ended up paying the woman 95€ (including the deposit), just to get out of there without too much confrontation. We had planned to stay for 3 nights, but cut it short (only staying for 1) & found somewhere else to stay. We are generally not fussy people, but this hotel was honestly unacceptable. Please do not stay here - you will only be disappointed.

Communication was a slight problem here as the staff do not speak any English. We didn't have too many problems except they tried to make us pay the day before we left when we had already paid on arrival. The booking and check in system seemed very chaotic and confusing.

The location of the hotel was great- walking distance to everything! The rooms and bathroom were clean and had a hairdryer which was a bonus. Airconditior was also good. Room was quite light and noisy in the morning but I suppose that is to be expected in the middle of the city.

Good for what we needed but others may be expecting something more...

The hotel is in a great location and the price is extremely affordable particularly for backpackers and people on a budget. However all the staff speak strictly italian and this made things very difficult. They also charged us for a room upgrade when the reason we had to move rooms in the first place was because of there faulty aircon. But despite the very many problems we had with this hotel the staff were always very friendly and accommodating.
