Thank you so much Tripadvisor. Thanks to the great app, myself and my boyfriend found this MASSIVE GEM of a restaurant.

The reviews will never give this place the justice it deserves - just go!

It was hard to find initially - the 'take me there' app on Tripadvisor doesn't exactly get you there. It was a very rainy evening and we almost gave up finding this place - but we found it.

It is a small restaurant and we were initially worried that we wouldn't get a table...but the very friendly waitress, Barbara, told us that she'd fit us in in about 30 minutes. We had just got outside and were planning on a quick drink at the pub nearby, when Barbara came out and told us that she could fit us in now as another couple were leaving.

The menu has a small but good selection. We chose the meal for 60Euro.

The value of this is amazing. Coming from the UK we'd probably pay double the price and get far less.

We got half a litre of Chianti, 2 small bottles of water and a meat & cheese platter to start with.

The steak...was out of this world. We have never ever had a steak like this before. The T-Bone steak was cooked to perfection. Luckily myself and my boyfriend both love our steak rare and started picking and hacking away at it like a pair of cannibals. It was juicy and succulent and melted in the mouth. you also get salad and potatoes to accompany this feast.

The most depressing thing I can say with 99.9% certainty is that we left this place and Florence a little sad...we both knew we'd never ever eat such an amazing steak like that again.

Look out for the happy picture of my boyfriend shaking the chefs hand.

Believe the reviews...you'll leave this place with a happy belly and mind!!

Well worth the short walk to a less popular area of town. Fantastic value for money – we had the 45€ beef for two and couldn’t eat it all. Washed down with their good house wine (50cl of which included in the menu price). Friendly helpful waitress and good atmosphere added to an enjoyable evening in the ‘real’ Florence.

Steak Fiorentina is virtually the only dish on the menu at this tidy, little bistrot. It is a classic, must try meal for two if you are in Florence and the offering here was stupendous. There is a choice of sizes from which to choose. We chose the mid-price "royal" for 60 euros.
This included 1/2 bottle of wine, bottle of water, choice of home baked breads and a starter of cold meats, local cheeses and a honey dip (very different and delicious). The main dish then arrived on a lazy susan with the t- bone standing proud in the middle, carved of its meat that was cooked to perfection and accompanied by a very generous selection of vegetables and salads. There must have been more than a kilo of meat to share. Four people would have eaten well from this offering; I exaggerate not.
The meat and cheese were all locally sourced and the very pleasant, young waitress was full of local information.
Although the bistrot is a kilometre west of the Pont Vecchio the walk is interesting along the banks of the River Arno and you certainly will appreciate the walk back after a meal truly fit for a royal.

Best. Meal. Ever.

We turned up having not made a reservation and should really have taken the advice on here to book. We were met with a friendly waitress (Barbara) who said there was nothing for half an hour. No problem, we wanted to eat here so we left to come back in due course. As we were out the door, Barbara called us back as another couple heard the conversation and said they were just leaving. This really is testament to how good this restaurant is, that other patrons didn't want us to miss out. Relieved, we sat straight down.

We could not believe that the prices quoted were for two people. The most expensive thing on the menu was steak with veg, salad, water, bread and 500ml of wine. Oh yes, it also included a platter of meats and cheese starter to share.... all for 60 euros. This was duly ordered!

When the food arrived it was a gob smacking moment... Both myself and my girlfriend looked at each other in awe at the 10cm t-bone protruding from the centre of the wooden plate. Artistically placed around the bone were courgettes, potatoes, lettuce and tomato. But the main mouth watering aspect was the 8 huge lumps of beef cut already cut from the bone. The anticipation as we both took one of these and cut a slither off... The reality was better than the expectation! The steak was just perfect. Crispy and charred on the outside and all the way through to rare on the inside, this was a taste sensation. I want to go back!

You will be missing out if you don't go here... It is a little difficult to find as the 'point me there' function on the app took us to the wrong place, but the search just adds to the mystery and exclusivity of this wonderful place. Think of Leonardo DiCaprio eventually finding the beach in 'The Beach.'

Brilliant service, great staff, wonderful ambiance and perfect food! Cannot fault!

€45 for a set dinner, no starter as we have our heart set on the platter from Il Santino. More than enough to share between the two of us, plenty of meat, cooked to perfection. Juicy yet not covered in blood. Free flow of alcohol and water. Waitress was attentive. Overall a good experience... Unfortunately we are just a two, we were jealous of how the bigger group's dinner was presented!!
