It has been said before, this is a fantastic location very central. It is a B & B so do not expect full hotel facilities, that said what it does provide is very good, comfortable accommodation providing a good breakfast in the centre of Florence. Which is exactly what we wanted. Our room was air conditioned (essential in August) with a great street view. (Photo attached). The staff are great very helpful and accommodating, my wife is Gluten free which presented no problem with options every morning. The Palazzo Ruspoli has plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. In summary we would definitely recommend this hotel it provided all of our requirements.

We stayed at the Palazzo Ruspoli – Florence for 4 nights in late June 2017. The hotel was a huge disappointment as it lacks major touches to become a charming B&B. Here are a few observations of my stay:
1) Location is a few meters from the Duomo and the main square / hub of Florence. It is within walking distance to major attractions in the city,
2) The front office staff is friendly; however, they are not available at all times, which can be a major hassle if you face any problems (we had a faulty sink that had hot water only and the issue was not checked until two days after our complaint. Even then, the problem remained as is),
3) Superior rooms are large; however, the view is not as advertised (the view of the Duomo is of the extreme top only) and can be very noisy due to the lack of soundproof windows. The bathroom have been cheaply restored and the shower is tiny and lacks any water pressure,
4) Buffet breakfast is very basic and not replenished unless one asks for a particular item,
5) Limited choice of in-room TV channels,
6) Free Wi-Fi all across the hotel with unreliable speed and availability.
Not recommended. Two stars given only for the amazing location.

Room Tip: Avoid staying at this property!

Dear Guest,
We want to thank you for sharing your experience at our Palazzo Ruspoli in Florence. All information and details that you have given are absolutely precious to us, and will permit us to improve our service.

We want to assure you that our daily and most important effort is committed to make unforgettable the experience of our Guests with us. For this reason, and for our attitude, we feel very sad for not having satisfied your expectations.

The Palazzo Ruspoli is a Bed & Breakfast in the heart of Florence; as is clearly indicate in the description, both on our web site and partner channels, that staff is available in the morning and in the afternoon and outside reception hours, Guests can have information, assistance and concierge service at the Hotel Brunelleschi, only 400 meters away. We understand some Guests might feel uncomfortable, this is the reason why we describe the limited service the most clearly we can: ‘A concierge service available from 8 am to 11 am and 2 pm to 6,30 pm’.

We regret that our buffet breakfast did not meet your expectations : it is within the best Italian tradition that is, exactly the classic continental breakfast with dainties fresh out of the oven and an excellent selection of jams, juices, yogurt, biscuits, honey, cereals and delicious seasonal fruit cut in small pieces for you to compose sweet salads.
We also offer homemade cakes, made daily by the pastry chef of the Hotel Brunelleschi. You can choose also from a rich range of cheeses, cold meats and boiled eggs, freshly prepared.
Gluten free food is also available on request.

We are delighted to read that you find our team friendly and that the location of Palazzo Ruspoli made your stay even more enjoyable .
We thank you for the nice words regarding the size of the Superior room with Duomo view you booked: please be advised that the view is as shown in the pictures on our web site www.palazzo-ruspoli-florence.it. We are deeply sorry to read that you were not able to relax during your stay in Florence: the windows have double glasses and soundproof level is enough to avoid the usual noises from the street, but eventually, not enough for some specific situations.

All our guests will find free wi-fi fiber connection up to 20 mb and a 32” LCD colour TV with all languages sat channels in each room; we don’t understand your words regarding the wifi connection and the TV equipment, however we keep your comment and we pass to our maintenance department to verify that everything works properly.

We cannot change what happened, but we truly hope that you could consider to give us a second chance if you will be back in Florence. We would be honored to have the opportunity to give you the best memories to take home and we hope you would like to consider the possibility to visit one of our property another : we would be delighted to welcome you again .

With my warmest regards

We stayed there for 3 nights. The room was big enough and very clean. The location is just perfect and the price is affordable. Breakfast was complete and the staff is very friendly. Everything was perfect!!

We arrived after 6PM and had another guest assist us in getting into our room.
The smell in the entry hallway is very offensive. Like a sewer. The room was fine, not much space to put clothes away. The beds were quite hard.
Our biggest complaint was the bathroom. Our shower was a folding surround that would not stay closed or keep water in.
Location is the best part of this hotel.
We would not stay here again.

The entrance to Palazzo Ruspoli property is a space in common with the whole building while the rooms are located on the third and fourth floor; we apologize if there was a smell in the hall as it may comes from the outside. However we thank you very much for this information as, in historical cities, it happens that old buildings use to empty septic tanks during the working hours and, during that operations, some bad smell can be perceived even in the nearby buildings.
We are delighted to read that the location of Palazzo Ruspoli made your stay even more enjoyable.
We thank you for your words regarding your accommodation, all the information are precious to us to improve our service: the beds are just a feature that reflects the italian style, appreciated by many of our guests, as well as the florentine style of the decor which recalls to the historical building. You stayed in a superior room with full accessibility and for this reason the shower cabin could not be closed. We apologize if you had some problems, we can assure that our Maintenance Department is carefully reviewing the room you stayed in, in order to avoid any similar experience for our Guests.
Our largest regret is that we did not have the possibility to modify the situation during your stay, offering you an alternative accommodation where you could completely enjoyed the stay with us .
We hope that you could consider to give us a second chance if you will be back in Florence. We would be honored to have the opportunity to give you the best memories to take home and we hope you would like to consider the possibility to visit one of our property another time : we would be delighted to welcome you again.

The location of the facility is just 50m from Duomo, and a walk away from all the other City attractions. Hotel is old, but it has a certain charm. This is excellent value for the Money. The breakfast is continental and nothing special, but you have so many nice restaurants nearby so we did not mind. The rooms with the view on the main street are little bit loud, but if you want quiet room, ask for one looking on the other side. This hotel is not about food and modern rooms, it is about location and that charm of the old building, what Florence is all about.
