Ciao a tutti! Sharing my positive experience with the Hotel Cavalcanti in Florence which has proved to be the best option to spend lovely vacation in wonderful Florence. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing, it really felt like at home thanks to Anna and Francesca! Will definitely advice this hotel to my friends! Excellent location, great service! Br, Anna

We have been on the road for 6 months now and have stayed at many hotels. This one remains at the top of our list! The owners, Francesca and Anna, are wonderful. They made us feel at home. We really appreciated how they had a map with key sites and their favorite places to eat and shop already on it! We followed their advice and had a lovely stay (and good food to boot). The location is great too. We could see the Leather Market from our room and we were a short walk from the Ponte Vecchio. The room was spacious and homey. We loved the kitchen area where you could cook for yourself if you wished. There were treats available for snacking and you could make tea or coffee when you wanted. We also liked that we had our independence there. We could come and go as we pleased; it made us feel like locals. We also met some lovely people there! Wifi was easy to access from our room. We were there just before Christmas so they had it decorated nicely. It's true you have to hike your luggage up approx. 21 stairs before you get to the elevator but to us it was worth it! We'd stay again, and we'd definitely recommend it to our friends.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the Leather Market were quiet. We were also on the same level as the kitchen and sittin...

An old building located very near Piaza Republica close to every turistic place in Florence. Very clean, nice and large rooms. An Irish Pub is located just next door and it can be a bit noisy during weekend nights. I will repeat if I go back to Firenze.

The location of this place is amazing. It is within walking distance of everything. Located close to train station. This place is not like a hotel. its not even like a B&B. Its like a service apartment. There is a kitchen lounge area where you can cook your own food, there are goodies on the table all the time. You can have coffee, tea, milk and juices anytime of the day. Biscuits, bread and cookies are aplenty. There is also another lounge area with a mini library. The staff provided us with a map with recommendation of the nearest supermarket, restaurants and places of interest. The staff recommendations for restaurants were fantastic. The bathroom is clean. the room is huge. The bed was comfy.

Only setback of this place is that
1) it is rather difficult to find this place. there is no signboard.
2) you must climb up about 25 steps staircase to the elevator. This is really bad for a large luggage traveler especially those with small kids. Elevator is also small.
3) You need different set of keys for different doors and need to get use to switching on lights as you go.
4) There is no wifi in the room - you need to go to the lounge. TV is old and no English channels.
5) Reception is only available between 10am to 7pm.
6) the room smells a bit - they probably need to air the room more often.

We have now stayed 5 times here. The rates are very reasonable for central Florence and the owners, Francesca and Anna, are very helpful and friendly.

The site is very central: 2 minutes from the Piazza Signoria and the Ponte Vecchio right by the Loggia Mercato Nuovo, so you can go and stroke the boar's nose every time you leave the hotel to guarantee your return to Florence.

It does not have a manned reception so you need to let them know when you are going to arrive and nor does it have a restaurant. They do, however, have a room equipped with a cooker, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, microwave etc and they also provide cakes and the makings of coffee for breakfast.

The rooms are pleasantly decorated with large bathrooms and there is also a communal seating area with free wifi.

Don't expect a plush hotel because you wouldn't get one for this price. What you get is a pleasant room, some self catering facilities, free wifi and friendly helpful people.

We'll be back next year.
