The synagogue of Florence is the largest Jewish temple in Italy with its dome prominently positioned in the Florentine skyline. Not too many visitors so the place is quiet and solemn. The museum in the second floor gallery is small.
The security is heavy. Aside from being guarded by Italian paratroopers you have to check in your bags, electronics, including your camera although photography is permitted by way of smart phone.
