We stayed here for three nights in a room that included a loft. There were three of us in the room so that it was very convenient as far as having privacy. I just wish the loft had somewhere to hang clothes. But it had a single bed and a sofa and was pretty spacious. The location is great; 5 minutes to the duomo, next door to the Uffizi. The staff was great, the hotel breakfast was good, but it can also be a bit noisy at night. The breakfast was an assortment of cold cuts and breads/pastry, typical of other Italian hotels. The only problem I had with the location was that the entrance to the hotel is in what I would call an alleyway and it always smelled like pee. Other than that, it was a nice place to stay.

The Hotel is very well positioned, and we get a full apartment, the decoration old, but very well preserved, there is a strange smell in the public areas. The location is the best you can get. The staff was very helpful, in all our requests.

I shared the Baroncelli Apartment with a friend for 6 nights in November, 2016. The apartment building is located directly across the entrance to the hotel. The smell of sewage upon entering the apartment building was stomach churning and was present every day. I would try to hold my breath upon entering the ground floor of the building until I reached the Baroncelli Apartment on the first floor. Once inside, the odor did not enter the apartment. The apartment was spacious and clean. It is a two bedroom apartment but you must enter one of the bedrooms to reach the second bedroom. It is not ideally situated for privacy. It is better suited for a family with children. Also, both bedrooms have a door leading into one of the bathrooms. One of the doors is glass and is covered by a sheer, see-thru curtain. Once again, the privacy factor is eliminated. Be aware that there are only two keys to the apartment so if your party is 3-4 adults, this may be a factor. Again, this apartment is better suited for one family. There was no housekeeping service during our stay. We had to visit the front desk and ask for more towels midstay. Finally, when we reported a man singing and shouting in the apartment next door at all hours of the day and night, the front desk at the hotel knew right away who we were talking about. Apparently they had had this complaint before and told us that if he continued, they would call the police. But since there is no telephone in the apartment, we had to use our own phones to call to the hotel across the alley. The manager would come over, bang on the man's apartment door, the man would not answer, and the manager would leave. This aspect of the stay was most bizarre. The night before our departure, he read/shouted about something as though he was reciting from a book. This went on from 11pm until 4am. Needless to say, we got no sleep before our 21 hour travel day home.

So convenient to everything, and enabled us to pop by the room and drop off packaged, change shoes, etc. quite easily. Just a short walk to the bridges, shopping, etc. We ended up having to walk to the train station because of a marathon blocking the roads, and it was doable.

Breakfast is fine, rooms are fine but sometimes get some street noise.

Small property in the center of Florence just around the corner from the Uffizi Museum and a few blocks from Ponte Vecchio. Location was ideal. Our room was spacious though looked at an alley. The commons living room was comfortable and spacious and looked over the amazing Piazza del Signoria. Breakfast was tasty with an array of bread, pastries, yogurt, meat and cheese. Staff helpful.
