Alessandra's staff was wonderful. Polite, excited, patient. Great location, right next to the Uffizi. Our family of four were impressed with the size of the room and the cleanliness.

BUT ... and this isn't the hotel's fault ... the zanzara (mosquitos) were vicious. There are no screens on the windows in Italy but they really need them in Florence. We made the mistake of not closing our windows completely at night, and the next morning we were covered in bites. My daughter's face looked like she had chicken pox. Apparently, Florence now has mosquitoes 10 months of the year. And the closer you are to the river, the worse it gets.

Just be warned.

Thanks for writing! Unfortunately, mosquitoes are a natural part of living in Florence, ut keeping the window closed will solve this problem! We hope to see you again soon.

This is my second time staying here in the past 2 years and I would not even consider any other hotel!!

Room Tip: if you can stay in a suite take it! The view from the terazzo is excellent.

This was our favorite place to stay during our recent visit to Italy. The staff was friendly and helpful. We felt very comfortable and safe, almost like visiting family. Our rooms were spacious and very clean. We liked the variety of rooms. (Our 23 year old son could have a room of his own.) We were confused when we first arrived since the reception area is up a few flights, but once we had it figured out and used the lift, it was no problem. Breakfast was great and a computer with internet was available for our use. We have recommended Hotel Allesandra to our friends and family who plan to visit Florence and will definitely stay there when we return to Florence.

For the money you cannot beat the location, breakfast and quality. The staff are the nicest we encounterd in Italy; very helpful, nice, welcoming. i did not give this 5 stars because i am rating it as a family. We have a 16month old, so traveling means stroller and extra stuff to carry around. To enter the hotel lobby you have to climb 2 flights of stairs to a 2 person lift (not big enough for open stroller and one adult), take lift to 2nd floor (by stairs another 4 flights). once checked in you need to take another flight of stairs to room. While excersise is great the set up of hotel can be pretty scary with a little one. If you do not have litte kids in strollers this place is awesome. Unfortunately there is not much hotel could do to improve access issues as it was built like 500 years ago....
