We had booked a hotel in Florence and when our cab dropped us as locked metal gates we figured we were in trouble. To make a long story short, an employee of Montebello found us on the street at 11pm, phoned the hotel who had a room for us. She called a cab and left.We arrived to the wonderful Montebello where we were welcomed warmly. We had travelled from Canada and were exhausted. Our room was large, old world with modern updates. We gratefully fell to sleep in a large bed with lovely linens. In the cost of our room was breakfast. This was no ordinary breakfast. It included everything you could want!

We had 2 adjacent rooms for 2 nights in Florence. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very well kept. Housekeeping was great both days and the front desk staff was always responsive. The hotel and the entry courtyard are lovely and the location is great. They are not in the middle of everything yet they are close enough that you do not feel too remote. The neighborhood is very pleasant and our stay was great. For the price, it is hard to beat.

nice accommodations, friendly staff, very clean...a little further from attractions than we prefer but otherwise would definitely stay there again. breakfast was not included which i was surprised at but i believe that is because we paid with points.

This is a smaller, boutique style Italian hotel. Very pretty. Great location not far from the shops and museums, but not in the middle of the touristy areas. Close to the river, a few other large hotels (that didn't look as nice) and a couple short blocks to a bank with an ATM. Staff speaks English. The courtyard is spectacular particularly for al fresco dining. Restaurant food was good. Included breakfast was ok, although not hot. Coffee terrific; staff very professional in white jackets. Rooms were beautifully appointed in ornate (heavy silk drapes, wing back chairs) style. Each had a sitting area, bed area, bath. Most rooms viewed slept two but were not small rooms. Room was a bit dark. Bedding crisp, pillows fresh, bed really comfortable. Bathroom had a small, corner round shower (no bending over to pick up dropped soap) although we noted other rooms had varying bathroom amenities, large tubs to larger showers. Only complaints are price (a bit high) and cleanliness, which wasn't terrible, but floor felt dusty (hard wood while most had carpet) and bathroom had visible soap and water spots on marble wall around sink and other fixtures.
