This was my third stay at this hotel. Paulo Lombardi is no longer there. He was always such a great help, so it was disappointing to hear that. It also appears that the hotel has changed hands; although I can't say that for certain.

Now the good news. It's still a great place to stay in a central location. You are down the street from the Firenze Duomo and many restaurants. It's easy to get to museums and the train station is a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

My room was clean and serviced daily. The WIFI was awesome. Breakfast was standard Italian style with sweet confections, but they also had boiled eggs and cold cereal. There is air conditioning and heat in the rooms; although I had use for neither while there. The people at the front desk all spoke English and we're very helpful. They booked a wine tour for me, which was very enjoyable.

All in all there is excellent value still to be had at this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel at the recommendation of friends. It's a typical Italian small hotel. It is only a few blocks from the Duomo and about a 10 minute walk from the train station. The lobby is on the second floor of a building with only a small sign on the front. The rooms are apparently all different. Ours was a fairly large room (for a European hotel) with a step up into the bathroom. It had A/C which was nice since it was quite hot the weekend we were there. The only thing we didn't like was that was that the bathroom light was quite bright when turning it on in the middle of the night and disturbed the other sleeper. A night light would have been nice. Shower pressure was adequate. Room was clean although there was a little mold in the bathroom. Breakfast was typical - meat, cheese and an assortment of pastries and rolls, cereal and fresh fruit and juices and a coffee machine. Someone was there to assist with breakfast. Staff was all very pleasant. I would definitely stay here again.

This little gem is wonderful. Leonardo the owner is just so nice. The breakfast is very complete and has a variety of food enough to please anyone. We loved our room and the location. Very very clean and pleasant staff. This hotel is for anyone who wants to stay in a 500 year old building with amenities. Modern with charm. This was our best experience so far in Italy. Don’t miss this one !!!!

As other people have said, this is a hotel on one floor of an old building. Therefore it’s a bit up and down steps and through passages, which does add to the character. The bathroom in our room had two steps up to it which can be a bit precarious in the night. Don’t expect a square boring hotel.
The location is brilliant - only 5 minutes walk from Duomo and easy walking distance from all the main areas bars, restaurants etc
It’s quiet, clean and tidy. Breakfast is good and plentiful (boiling your own eggs is a new one on me).
When we were there (September), the majority of guests were American, with some British.
Towels are weird - thin and more like sheets but that could just be the Italian way.
Some advice on rooms:
Room 27 - this is a single with a 3/4 size bed in it and my wife could lie down and touch both walls at the same time! I wouldn’t accept this as a double.
Room 6 - a lovely room, but right next to the kitchen so there is some noise from before 7am as they start preparing breakfast.
It’s a good value hotel in a central location.

The rooms was small with a poor toilet, air con and no plug in the bath. The staff were friendly and breakfast was better than average. We felt this price was expensive but the amount is more to do with demand in Florence than the quality of the accommodation. Lastly you have to access the hotel reception via a old and dirty lift which is off putting. Had hoped for better from the photos.
