This tour was one of our highlights in Italy. It was easy to find the meeting place in Florence, where Jillian picked us up in the van. One other couple had booked but didn't turn up, so there was only me and my boyfriend on the trip. It was a short drive out of town to the lovely ramshackle farm house where we picked up the bikes. A helmet and water bottle is also included. Our first stop was a winery tour and tasting at a beautiful villa. I'm not a regular cyclist but it was a fairly easy ride in the morning. Lunch is at a small family restaurant, and it was some of the best food I had in Italy. Simple, fresh and delicious. After lunch the ride did get harder, but there was a gelati reward at the top of the hill. We went in August, and it was about 37 degrees C, but as Aussies we could cope with the heat. The countryside was spectacular, and our American expat guide was friendly and knowledgeable. A must do in Tuscany!
