The apartment is spacious and well equipped. The location of the apartment at the end of Corso Umberto is perfect with restaurants, gelaterias, bars ,coffee shops and a supermarket all within a short stroll. Corso Umberto however is very busy and so it can be noisy.Ezio is a wonderful host who does everything he can to make your stay as good as possible.
Ezio made every effort to ensure we were happy with the accommodation. The house is in walking distance of a craft beer bar, two excellent gelaterias, tiramisu restaurant, I could happily live here, yet alone stay on holiday. When I return to Sicily I will want to stay here. Totally recommended.

Ezio is a brilliant bloke who will help you in every way he can e.g. trying to get us into a garden not normally open to the public. This is his mum's pad, which he manages on her behalf, and looks like mum has just moved out, with all sorts of ornaments and decorations, and especially comfortable furniture dating from the 1960s which she probably sat or lay in before the pad became rentable. The nice thing about Ezio is that he's not fussy and does not inspect every nook and cranny for the slightest speck of dust when you leave. It's bang in the centre of Taormina on a very busy street above a gelateria and a bar and while it's exciting to see the world go by, at the weekend it can be noisy, and so ear-plugs are essential to dull the seemingly endless hubbub from the street.
We have nothing but praise for Mary’s House, and for Ezio who owns and manages it. The apartment is spacious and comfortable, very nicely furnished (clearly by someone who used to live here). As well as a double bedroom (with balcony) and a twin bedroom, there is a good-size lounge with plenty of comfortable chairs (with balcony with a great view of Etna), a dining room with space for six to eat, and a separate small kitchen. There is a small enclosed courtyard as you enter, where you can also sit and can hang out clothes to dry (although it is also the way through for those renting the upstairs apartment). The location is good, at one end of the pedestrian main street of Taormina, the Costo Umberto; everywhere in Taormina is walking distance. There is a supermarket only a couple of minutes walk away. You are about 20 minutes walk from the bus station, but Ezio both collected us and delivered us back there by car. There is a genuine and warm welcome here, which makes such a difference. An inevitable part of being in a place like Taormina is that at nights there is quite a bit of noise from people out enjoying themselves, and there are a couple of cafes very nearby; and even in the day there is traffic outside and a busy post office opposite. But the accommodation itself and the owner’s care for you cannot be faulted. If we come back to Taormina, we will certainly stay here again.
