For reasons beyond this review, we stayed one night in the old fishing harbour and then one night at Hotel Teocrito, a stay that was pre-booked.
If you do not want or need to stay in Ortigia, this hotel is well-placed for the Parco Archeologico and the Santuario Madonna delle Lacrime. There is a very good hop-on/hop-off bus service that will take you all over for €5 per day so you can get to Ortigia and anywhere else in the city.
The hotel staff were welcoming and very helpful, despite our early arrival. Though there is no hotel parking, free street parking adjacent to the hotel is available. We were provided with very helpful information about getting around, places to eat and so on.
The room was a good size, clean and comfortable and included a bar fridge and a view over the Santuario.More
