this was a lovely hotel made all the better by the lovely staff, Lucia, Matteo, and all the others. Lucia loved to talk to us at breakfast time and was so very helpful in telling us where we could park our hire car, where to go to get the bus etc. Very comfortable room and so clean. Wonderful.

I stayed at the Hotel Teocrito in Siracusa, Sicily, Italy for 3 nights. Even though the hotel is just one floor, it is a typical little Italian hotel, some may say it is not modern enough but in fact it is very cosy and allows you to immerse yourself into the vibrant culture even more and makes you feel like you are living in Italy. We had a view and balcony looking out to a church. This was the Sanctuary of Madonna delle Lacrime (Madonna the Crier).
The hotel is about a 25-30 minute walk from the city centre of Ortigia but along the way there are many cheap and delicious home style restaurants where the locals eat...so must be good! There are 2 pizzerias on either side of the hotel as you exit the apartment building, averaging 6-7 euros for a pizza! Can't go wrong with that!
Buffet breakfast was a little bit small but it was enough to get you going until lunch.
Staff were very helpful and friendly, even though I can speak Italian, the staff spoke almost perfect English which was nice.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is travelling to Siracusa.

Hotel Teocrito is situated about a 5 minute walk from the Archeological Museum of Siracusa (which is unmissable!)
It is actually located in an apartment block.
The staff is lovely and helpful - especially Lucia.
I asked for a quiet room and was given one at the back of the hotel. It was a large and comfortable room in an older style. Lovely.
However, my cousins' room faced the road and it was noisy.
There are a number of cafes and eateries close by. The shopping area is a 15-20 minute walk away and the Island of Ortygia probably another 10 minute walk. I really enjoy walking so this was not an issue. The room rates are therefore good value.
Breakfast is included and offers a variety of cakes, croissant, cereals, yoghurt as well as savoury options such as eggs, hams and cheese.

Lovely staff and very good with suggestions of what to see etc.. Fantastic big breakfast with hot and cold options. We did book a room with a balcony which we did not receive but we were happy with the room :)

The lady receptionist and the lady attending our needs at breakfast were both very nice and helpful. We visited the Teatro Greco, and archeological museum and many other touristic places. Our stay was great and we enjoyed every minute of it.

Room Tip: Room on the inside of the building. The ones located with a street view a bit noisy!
