We recently stayed at this hotel with a group of 40 people. Although the hotel looks nice from the pictures it has not been kept up. Water was initially brown when it was turned on, the showers did not work. The room is very dreary with stains on the furniture. The manager is rude. They did not deliver on their promises originally agreed upon. Some rooms did not have blow dryers and working A/C. There were many many maintenance problems. Do not stay at this hotel!!!

Terrible stay. In three days have not changed towels. Dreadful breakfast. Too many restrictions. Recepcionist & owner very disagreeable. Really bad experience. Not recommend. I would not back never. I could not enjoy my holidays. Only problems and problems everyday.

This could be a wonderful hotel if they would only get someone to properly manage it. When our group arrived at the hotel there was no water in any of the rooms. The staff said they forgot to turn it on for the season, then when it was turned on the water was muddy. Our room had no ventilation and no air conditioning. The room next to us had a broken door lock. There were ragged curtains at the windows. When we insisted on different rooms the manager told us no, but when many of our group got angry they did switch us to "better" rooms. No a/c but a sea breeze that made it bearable. Our new room still had a big burn hole in the window curtains. The hotel had many maintenance issues . A good manager would have not allowed this to happen.

Room Tip: Don't stay here until they get new management.

We wanted a two night stay and paid for this upon arrival but when we went to the room we immediately went back down to reception and cancelled the second night - the room was like a prison cell - one high window in a small room. The fixtures were dusty and the bathroom whilst not filthy was not clean. There were wires trailing in the bedroom and notices everywhere warning of a €50 fine if you were found to have taken food or drink into the room - even water! There was a big noisy group of teenagers in so we did not have a good nights sleep and when we went down for breakfast at 8.30 it was as if a plague of locusts had been in there was virtually nothing left except some cereal and some stewed coffee. The waitress brought us each a croissant and that was it!
It was only the friendliness of the duty manager that saved our stay from being totally negative - we asked what the check out time was and he said we could stay until 1 pm - this was welcome because we could have a swim in the pool and enjoy the sunshine for a while - and he had some proper coffee brought to us from the bar. We parked in the street opposite the hotel and did not have any trouble with that.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony

Solunto Mare Hotel was renovated and very clean.Rooms are spacious and have balconies overlooking the street or the sea.Food is the ugly side of this hotel. For breakfast, it is necessary to get up very early if you want something to eat.Breakfast is very poor:(
Dinner is not so bad but not nearly what I expected. The hotel staff is very unfriendly, except the reception girl whose name is Daniela.Beach hotel is a disappointment, it is impossible to swim.
The good side is that the hotel is located near the train station so it is possible to visit many places such as Cefalu, Palermo, Mondello ...
