This is one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed. A great location by the Ionic sea near all the most important places you need to visit in Catania. We spent 10 days there for our summer vacation. From the moment we arrived the staff that greeted us was amazing by the garden and then for the checking in. The room was beautiful with a little terrace with a table and chairs overlooking the pool. Very clean with amazing grounds, the service superb, breakfast was part of the package we received with the booking and let me tell you that was a wonderful experience because everything was delicious. Thanks to the very friendly, helpful staff to make our stay so unforgettable. I will be visiting Catania again, hopefully next summer and The Romano palace is were I want to stay.
Thanks again again Romano palace not only you have a great hotel but an amazing staff.
Regards
Salvatore Pappalardo

We have just had a week's holiday as a family of 3 at the Romano. On first arrival(just 10 mins taxi ride from airport 20 euro) the image is stunning. We were met by very helpful staff who provided good friendly information and assistance in all areas. The room (103) was spacious and well equipped. It was presented in a very clean and tidy state of which the staff kept that way all week. Fully air conditioned made it a pleasure to stay. Anything we requested during our stay was met with smiling and helpful staff. The breakfast was well above expected standards and was in a very pleasing atmosphere. Pool areas always had plenty of lounges and space at all times with fresh towels available. Again the staff displayed excellent standards. DOWNSIDES. Regards the hotel none. However local amenities are sparce and shops almost none existant. A bus or taxi trip into Catania is a must for restaurants and shopping. (exception to this is the Rainbow restaurant across main road). The hotel bars and resturauntes are expensive but as this is stated to be 5 star was expectedly so. Overall in Scicily the rating of 5 star is probably justified however compared with UK standards 4 at best. This area and hotel is for relaxation not an active holiday. If that's what you want it's perfect.

This hotel was very nice with a luxurious setting. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was large with a nice bath and shower area. The restaurant provided delicious food. The grounds are spectacular. Best of all, it is just a 5-10 minute drive to the Catania airport.

Recently spent six nights at the Romano Palace which is promoted as a five star hotel. The drawcard for us was primarily the attraction of a private beach in combination with five star accommodation. Well the private beach which was a five to ten minute walk away turned out to be a commercially operated beach area principally catering for the vast local population. It was not a core amenity of the hotel as I feel the website portrayed, and required written authority from the hotel reception to gain access.
Towels were not provided by the hotel for the beach going guests with the only option a very much worn towel rental from the commercial beach operator at 5 euro each with a 12.5 euro deposit as well.
We had planned to make the “private beach” a focal point during our stay with frequent visits but this was promptly put to rest on day one when we were overwhelmed with the flood of locals occupying the beach.

I found our room to be of a liveable standard but certainly not adequate for it to be rated as five star. Walls were so thin you could hear the occupants next door as well as general movement in the hallway, and the bathroom needed urgent attention to a leaking shower screen which cause minor flooding along the back wall.
The critical issue for me remains the hotels misuse of the term private for the beach facility as I’ve described above, as it is a prime motivation for a guest to book.

We ordered the hotel by the internet and we loved the pictures but the rooms are very small and the shower room is very very small. It is not 5 star hotel the maximum is 4 stars not more !!!!
The stuff were very friendly but it can’t cover the quality of the the hotel . The swimming pool is nice and the kids liked it .

BUT - !!!!!!- Be careful with the rooms you order - they cheat the customers order only regular room they don’t have any other room and they charge you for better room while you pay for a better one - and when you complain they give you many stupid explanations and they are laying to you and charge your credit card
