Le Saline is a lovely three bedroom home nestled in the heart of the "new town" area of Taranto. How we found it is a long story. Would you believe me if I said an "angel" on the train found it for us?
We had just arrived, it was getting dark and had no room reservations. In our broken English we asked her if she knew of any hotels nearby. This is another example of Italian kindness towards American tourists somewhat lost in Italy. She made a phone call, we boarded the city bus and just rode with her as she smiled the whole way, tried to communicate with us to say just don't worry and we have a room for the night. Turns out her friend owns the property and she was on her way there to visit.
We made it to Le Saline. All the comforts of home, a modern home. Tile floors, contemporary furniture, nice artwork, WiFi, access to printer, a "living room" use of fridge in kitchen, use of washer and dryer, a large tiled balcony, upgraded bathroom, nice linens, breakfast served at the dining table, and English and American T.V!
Our Host Marco, takes extreme pride of ownership and guest service. He assisted us with our every need. In his words, don't hesitate to ask, you "must ask". He even made a call for a private guide for us the next day to explore the city. Marco really does treat you like a "guest" in his home.
Look no further. You will say "Wow" when you enter this lovely B&B.
Gracie Mile to Marco! And special thanks to a sweet girl we will never forget! "Angel" Gracia!
