Olymplia and her husband made my family so welcome without being overbearing. They were keen to share information about restaurants, provided cushions for the Opera, phoned taxis etc .A taxi was needed sometimes to get from the town to the apartment but that was more to do with the heat than the distance. Would recommend without hesitation.
What a beautiful apartment ! It had everything and more that I could have asked for. Immaculately clean, well equipped and in the most beautiful garden - perfect for early morning tea or a glass of wine in the evenings. Olympia was friendly and very, very helpful. Although the weather was very hot I really enjoyed the pleasant 20 minute walk into the centre of Verona. Am hoping to take my husband back to Ad Olympia residenza next year when hopefully I will have learnt a few more Italian phrases!
As a family of 3, we stayed in early June. The accomodation was great, everything you needed and in a lovely quiet area of Verona, only a few minutes drive from the centre.
We were met at the gate by the owners. They were so helpful getting us situated. Even though they don't speak much English, they understand quite a bit of it and they are adept at Google Translate!
We had a bit of misunderstanding (our fault, not theirs!) about breakfast so the first day they came in and set up a lovely spread with pastry, fruit and cappuccino- even though it was not included in our package!
The Apartment is spacious with two bedrooms and can sleep 5 if you are using the pull out couch in the living room. There is a washing machine and line you can use as much as you want. The kitchen is full service and I cooked several meals so we didn't have to eat out all the time. There is an automatic espresso machine as well as the old style stove top coffee maker for espresso.
The place was spotless when we arrived and we had everything we needed in the complete welcome packet they provide- all kinds of information about the area (Veronetta) and what it has to offer.
The location is really lovely in an old neighborhood of Verona, but it is not an easy walk up from the old city. The good thing is taxi's are inexpensive in the area so we usually walked down and took a taxi back.
There is a back gate that lets you out into the parking area of one of the best view points in Verona- Castle San Pietro. It is currently under renovations but the views from the walls are spectacular.
We highly recommend this property as a B&B or an Apartment rental.
This was our first time booking accommodation through TripAdvisor, so some first time apprehension. We need not have been concerned, the accommodation was just as described and we were truly blessed to have Olympia and Francesco as such wonderful hosts. This was in spite of poor Olimpia suffering from a shoulder injury. The accommodation is delightful - spotlessly clean and a pleasant 10 minute walk from the centre of Verona. Breakfast was simple but delicious, and with the electronic gated access one feels very secure. The railway station is a very pleasant 30 minute walk from the property and the airport a 35 Euro 30-minute ride. We used standard restaurants for lunch and dinner, the highlight of which for us was Boccondivino (https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g187871-d3336532-Reviews-Boccondivino-Verona_Province_of_Verona_Veneto.html). We'll be going back to see Olimpia & Francesco at a warmer time of year so we can also enjoy the small but pretty garden. Our teenage children were delighted to find good wifi at the property.
