We chose to dine here after checking out other reviews for local restaurants.
We arrived a little before start of service but were welcomed in to a table at the rear of this quaint restaurant.
Cannot complain about any of our choices. Baccalá alla Vincentina, Maccheroni a cacio e pepe, then we decided to have an antipasto. Back to front but never mind. Selection of salumi with cheese and peppers. Finished off with strudel.
Excellent service, excellent food. Not much more to add.

Thank Moschi1

A recommendation from our BnB hostess directed us a block away from where we were staying on Via Rigaste San Zeno to this wonderful local osteria tucked away on a small side street of the same name. The proprietor ushered us inside and into the care of a gracious hostess who literally brought the tripod-mounted menu to our table and described every dish on it with great patience, which was helpful since it was hand-written and many dishes seemed to have local, unique names. We gambled on most of our choices and were not disappointed by any. The food was all delicious. OK, maybe the roasted rabbit was a bit dry but the exceptional olive-and-rosemary-based sauce and delicate side made up for that. Even the bread basket was filled with unusual and tasty baked items. Our only regret was not saving enough room for dessert, having observed what wiser guests were enjoying. This owner and staff clearly take their food very seriously and we hope you will be as delighted as we were.

Having booked a reservation, we were first to arrive at 19-30 and were given beaming smiles from 2 waitresses and a colleague dressed in his chef's gear but he remained front-of-house. Not sure of his role.
The décor was very unusual, fairly contemporary but dark colour schemes. We were able to choose our preferred table. All the tables were well spaced.
The 2 waitresses were charming with a sense of fun making the evening really comfortable for us.
The typical Italian menu of 3 courses was drawn up on a blackboard. We only wanted main courses, which were well explained from a choice of about 8. I had fillet steak with a green salad. The meat was cooked as an entire fillet and cut afterwards giving a range from well done at the outer edge to very rare at the dead centre - an interesting display. Because of this, the meat was warm rather than hot but is so typical of Verona meals. The chef probably overdid the sage, again a trait of chefs with courses in Verona. However, it was lovely and tender and plentiful at 20 euros (typical for fillet steak in Verona).
My wife had breast of duck in an orange dark sauce, which she was really pleased with (18 euros). We had 3 glasses of Valpolicella red wine at 2,50 euros each and above the average taste for local wines which we find generally thin compared to most French or Spanish reds. My wife tried a tiramisu at 4,50 euros for dessert, which was lovely. I had a small coffee (1,50). With the obligatory cover charge, the bill came to 55 euros. We tipped them 5 euros.
The restaurant slowly populated as the evening wore on and the atmosphere was perfect as the efficient waitresses did their stuff in their cheery manner. I would certainly visit again if in Verona mostly on account of the charm of the capable waitresses and the overall ambience of the setting.

I went in a group of three to this restaurant based on its Trip Advisor reviews, and we weren't disappointed! Our waitress was very patient explaining the dinner choices to us in English (kindly translating from the menu board) and the food was amazing - fresh, local ingredients and fantastic flavours. The desserts especially (tiramisu and berry cheesecake) were stunning, and the regional wine rounded out our meal nicely. All in all, a great evening showcasing beautiful, fresh food.

Having read reviews expected better. Most expensive meal we had in Verona and the worst. Boring and badly cooked.
