Lovely family runs the restaurant. Menu is limited so probably would not go back often unless you found something on it you really liked. Overall a very pleasant good meal that I would easily redo occasionally.
we started with the octopus platter, a combo I had not had before but really enjoyed. My entree was tabbouleh and lentil balls served with three sauce choices (dried tomaot, eggplant puree or hummus). My wife had veal in a tuna sauce , a classic but one we have never made, at least not yet.
The dessert was a rictta/mascarpone cake, which was more like a pie filling in that it was light and gelatin like. Different but enjoyable. Finished up with a Limoncello and a darl licorice like liqueur I'm still not sure if I liked.

(If you like the styling in the WC, complement the waitress, She and her mother designed them when they felt the originals felt to much like a hospital WC.

Hosteria 17 came highly recommended on TripAdvisor, yet we were quite disappointed at the quality of the dishes we sampled. We had only one day to enjoy Verona and was looking for an authentic regional meal. If the food here is an example of regional food I weep for Verona. Despite the paprika, the appetizer of polenta and octopus was absolutely tasteless. So bland we couldn't finish it. Made me wonder if the chef even had tastebuds. The second course of black linguini with shrimp was almost as bad. Almost equally bland and boring with six little shrimp on two plastic brochettes like we were eating at a fast food place at the mall. The canned music was terrible. Maybe Brazilian samba is popular in Brazil but we certainly didn't expect atrocious pop-cover Brazilian samba repeating the same three horrible songs again and again during our meal ...."sex with me is so amazing" were actual lyrics heard again and again. The highlight of the meal was the service from our waitress Elena. Not great , just OK service but compared to everything else it shone like a bright star!
Price point was average.
The interior is charming.
We didn’t expect a high-class culinary experience, just good food in a casual, family- Hosteria.
In summary if this restaurant is anything more than a "money laundering operation" it has failed miserably. We were quite underwhelmed.

Buongiorno.
NOT AT ALL.
cordialmente
Lo staff

Went to this family run restaurant with a group of 10 business friends and enjoyed it greatly. We agreed upon a wonderful menu suggestion for lunch and got 4 beautiful dishes accompanied with wonderful and affordable wines. Old fashioned service and freshly prepared food: an unbeatable combination. Value for money and definitely the best meal we had in Verona during this visit!!

The octopus with polenta was melt in the mouth complemented by the delicate flavor of pepper/paprika. My friends tortellini with prawns was also yummy. The local white wine was a lovely accompaniment
