Beautiful main reception in stunning old building but a walk around corner to our room in different and less attractive building. Our view from room was typical Venice and quirky. Bathroom needs renovation! Old shower curtain especially.

So ask if youre going to be in the main hotel or the sub standard building around the corner!

Room Tip: Rememer to ask if you are staying in The main hotel or in the forgotten building around the corner

Firstly let me say I can't understand why this place has the negative reviews on here, one can only assume people either have extremely high expectations to the point that they are never satisfied or they have had some unfortunate mishap that left a sour taste.

Personally, my partner and I could not fault this hotel. Yes, some parts are separate from the main reception, remembering this is Venice, mans the building exteriors cannot be altered in such a way as to connect them. We walked around to the other side of our building for a pleasant continental breakfast. Nothing fancy, but typical of an Italian service and better than what we had in Rome!
The photo of the 'unmanned' reception someone has taken on here with roped off chairs is because the chairs are antique and are ornamental. It's not the reception, just a foyer.
Our room was lovely, small entranceway with robe, two does of here, one leading to bedroom-comfortable bed, and quite spacious, other to bathroom-which was well appointed and contained a bath.

The small canal outside of the breakfast room was a great spot to take a gondola from-no queue like the main areas.

Easy 5-10min walk to Piazza San Marco, and also to the main ferry terminal to either the train or the airport. Same distance to Doges palace and bridge of sighs. Slightly longer to Rialto Bridge.

We spent 2 nights here and never managed to get lost finding it. No matter how hard we tried!

Highly recommend!

Easy to find hotel in a good location. Reasonably friendly service and interesting hotel lay out - our room was in a separate building. Breakfast was plentiful if very sugar based. The main problem we encountered was that our room had an interconnecting door so the two rooms could be used as a suite and so there was absolutely no sound proofing as a result. We could hear EVERYTHING the next door people were doing - texting, coughing, snoring etc. including taking over an hour of rustling plastic bags when unpacking at 11.30pm at night! We asked to be shifted but were shown a room which would have been just as noisy (next to stairway and continuously slammed front door).

Room Tip: Ask to not have an interconnecting door or be anywhere near the front door.

The Ca' Priuli is the annex to the Priuli Palazzo but do not let that influence your decision to stay there. Our room was spacious, totally modernized and with the highest quality bathroom facilities, linens and other accessories. Even the shampoos were premium quality.
The room was about 500 sq ft with a 15 foot ceiling and two large, opening windows. Staff at the hotel were amongst the best I have ever seen. Check in was flawless, porters were there to take care of baggage and follow up service was impeccable. The day prior to checkout, I asked for a porter to take all our luggage to the water bus for a direct trip there. The hotel porter brought all our luggage down, the second porter led us with our luggage to the water bus and provided all direction needed to make the trip to the airport flawless. We never had to touch a suitcase!
The hotel is just a very short distance from St. Marks Square, the centre of everything in Venice and both water taxi and water bus depot to any place in Venice you may want to go. We got to the hotel with one short water bus ride from the cruise ship for a five day stay in Venice.
The room was filled with very functional and beautiful antiques with room for all our clothing and everything else. There was a very old and beautiful oil painting on the wall and others everywhere in the hotel.
Power was European so an adaptor is needed to power North American devises (we carry two iPhones, two iPads and a powerful laptop as well as hair curlers, etc. The bidet was a nice touch. Wifi was five bar in our room and strong enough for FaceTime.
The hotel provided a continental breakfast which was the best I have ever had in Europe. In addition to the usual croissants, pastries, etc. there was a Panini maker and a variety of breads, etc. to make whatever Panini you might want. There was ham, salami, various cheeses and much more. There were eggs, various cheese packs, multiple types of fresh fruits (even kiwi), cereals, coffee, tea, etc. and I mean etc. The dining room overlooked a street on the edge of a canal and we could see and hear the gondoliers going by. The hotel caters to all types of guests and is a real find!
I have read negative reviews about some rooms in the hotel but that was not our experience. If you are concerned, look at your room and staff will be more than happy to give you another, if it is available. Venice is a top tourist destination and that means the hotels do fill up.

We used a private transfer boat from the airport. He brought us up to within one city block of the hotel.
You'll check in at the main hotel and be led out to the alternate building that houses your room.
We stayed in the attic room 505.
Not bad. Very quiet. The a/c unit didn't work that well but you could easily open the skylight window in the bedroom and get some cool air. You might want to skip this room in the summer heat though.
The view from the top of the hotel that you'll have access to is astounding.
This building has an elevator. It appears to have been recently installed.
You're also very close to all the main sites. This hotel is in a prime location.
Breakfast is good with plenty of carbohydrate products and hard boiled eggs.
There is no fitness center in the hotel.
There's a gym close by. Fitness point.
If you actually care about getting a good workout.
Us california natives have an appreciation for such things.

The staff at the hotel was great. They answered all our questions and went out of their way to help us find landmarks.

I noticed mention of previous reviews having negative comments about the staff.
I would surmise that those people leaving reviews were approching the staff with a huffy entitled attitude that would get you nothing in most situations.
You get what you give. Don't be a jerk and you'll be just fine.
This hotel was good. I'd stay there again.
Enjoy your trip to Venice.
