We were offered Ca Fortuny as a replacement for an other apartment which was damaged by water. Although I had some doubts in the beginning we all were very pleased when we arrived at Ca Fortuny. As we took a private water taxi we are picked up just around the corner at Canale Grande by a nice and friendly lady and walked 2 minutes to the respective house. To reach the apartment at the top floor you need to climb a lot of stairs - but it is definitely worthwhile. The aparment is very well and nicely furnished, very clean and very charming. The location is also great - between Rialto (5 to 10 minutes) and Piazza San Marco (10 minutes). There is good supermarket just around the corner where everything for the daily life can be found. We spent four days there and enjoyed them very much.
This apartment is beautiful and features everything you need for a pleasant vacation. Close to Rialto Bridge and Accademia Bridge, so very central. In fact, nothing is a very far walk but if you don't like to walk, the Sant' Angelo water taxi is just around the corner. Everything in the apartment is top rate. Also, there is a very good supermarket just around the corner, too, which is great for cooking some of your own meals in the kitchenette. Two things you do need to know: 1) the apartment is up 4 flights of steps but we just considered this needed exercise and 2) you have to be careful when using big appliances together (like the washer and dishwasher). Ask the rental agent to show you where the breakers are just in case. Otherwise, splendid and I can't imagine a better spot to stay in Venice!
