We are 3 couples meeting here at the Hotel Moresco to begin our European Vacation. The Hotel Moresco was a great place to start from. The Moresco is a little off the beaten path, which was fine with us. With Carnival starting, Venice was exceptionally busy. Staying in the Dorsoduro district was a little less hectic in the evenings after we returned from our walks through the city.
The hotel is not large, but it's not small either. The lobby is adequate for the size. There is a well appointed library where you are hosted for a reception beverage, and where they host early evening snacks between 6:30p.m. to 8:00p.m. The rooms vary in size, and are well appointed & up to date. A very nice breakfast with a wide assortment of items is served daily.
We can't rave more about the staff. Everyone, & we mean everyone was "on it" all the time. They all went above & beyond to ensure we were well taken care off and we're going to enjoy Venice & all it has to offer.
One tip that was most helpful before arriving, was to take the Water Taxi from VCE to the hotel. It's pricey- 110 Euro, but worth it. We were door stopped at the hotel 20 minutes after leaving VCE. The 110 is for the boat. So if you have 1 to 6 it's the same price.
