Off the beaten tourist path. Full of major works by Tintoretto, painted/donated while he was a parishioner. Best appreciated with a guide (we recommend Luisella Romeo...seevenice.it) who can make the art and history come to life.

We walked into the courtyard which is filled with beautiful art work, very calm and quiet area, not very many tourists. Nice spot to get a way from it all!

We came across this church by complete accident. Having had lunch around the corner we went in almost by accident.
What a find....although Venice has so many churches this one alone took our breath away. A collection of paintings by Tintaretto that have to be seen to be believed......the ability to go right up to all of the artwork....absolutely stunning, and almost never mentioned in travel guides. A "must visit".

This church is a place where you can sit and reflect. It certainly was a welcomed respite from a warm day. What was magnificent was the quiet serenity of the space that was enhanced by lovely art.

This church is out on the way but well worth a visit. This was Tintoretto's place of worship and is adorned with fabulous paintings by himself, his son, and Cima. Because it's out of the way the church felt as it should, quiet, contemplative, we were able to appreciate it on every level.
