The air condition was not set to cool the room in our stay in April. The room was a little small and a bit warm, we were provided a fan to cool the room. We were overall happy with the service. The breakfast was excellent.

We visited Venice for a 4 day trip and it was wonderful. The city itself is charming. Hotel San Gallo is perfect for this kind of stay. It is located in a quiet square very close to San Marco. The location of the hotel is very central and close to a lot of places to visit. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and tidy. I highly recommend this place.
The hotel San Gallo offers the perfect location for Piazza San Marco. Literally 100m away.
It’s set on a small square which is quiet.
For the price I don’t think you can complain, breakfast was limited but for a few days it’s fine.
The hotel room was decorated in the venetian style but isn’t to everyone’s taste.
Negative points would be it’s a smoking hotel and we could smell smoke drifting in from next door and there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room.
There is an expensive mini bar fridge.
For the 3 nights we stayed it was worth it.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Stayed for 4 nights in February. Hotel not easy to find, but where is in Venice? San Gallo is a proper old Venitian hotel 200 metres from St Marks square but far enough away to be quiet. Rooms are not big but very comfortable and warm.
The hotel is quite basic, small rooms and few facilities. Breakfast was OK, limited choice which didn't change from day to day. I would have rated it as average, but for the redeeming factors: Firstly, it was cheaper than I imagined could be possible in Venice. The location was great, just a few seconds away from St Mark's. Finally, the staff were great, friendly and helpful.
We stayed here for 10th wedding anniversary and has a great time. The location is superb and about as close as you can get to the square. Breakfast was better than we expected - a good continental with excellent coffee and lots of pastries.
The rooms were small but big enough for a few nights and the stay was made especially memorable thanks to the advice from the concierge on our evening arrival. The time he spent explaining the city made us well-equipped to make the most of our stay. The hotel is a long way from the station but the boat ride on the canal is a perfect way to start the break.
Overall we would recommend this hotel and the price is worth it for the location.
A really lovely break which we would definitely do again.
