Just back from a second visit to this wonderful little restaurant in the Dorsoduro neighbourhood in Venice - and it was just as great as during our previous visit last year. Very friendly service and fair prices. Mostly full of locals but still friendly towards the occassional tourist. Can highly recommend having dinner here - and especially the tuna tatar and the risotto.

Small restaurant away from the crowds, with a trip advisor award
I expected better.

I'm fortunate enough to come to Venice on a yearly basis. I'm American and my companion is Italian from nearby Venezia Julia.
We stumbled on this little place after visiting the Peggy Guggenheim collection. Actually we were looking for another restaurant we couldn't
Locate and decided to give it a try.

We ordered 1 special of grilled calamari (20 euros) not small as listed garnished with chopped anemic supermarket tomato. 1 order
Of scallops 2 grilled very very good and prepared on the grill, the others which came together as part of the dish were small detached from the shell and smothered in a bland tomato sauce. Tasteless and most
Likely frozen. We requested that the entire order of large and small scallops be grilled, but were informed we could not change the dish. Which makes sense since they were not fresh.

We decided to go with half liter of house wine (being a Pinot Grigio)
Had to send back and order a bottle from the wine list. Hardly drinkable.

On the positive side we chose a whole branzino (sea bass) not wild caught but farmed) that was grilled and cooked perfectly. Brought to the
Table whole and plated table side.
No potato or vegetable was included.

With coffee and water (complimentary grappa ) bill was
150 euros. Very expensive for lunch
Hit or miss quality.

From the moment we stepped inside this establishment we knew it was going to be a good experience. Although very laid back as far as the owner's behaviour was concerned the waiter (on his own) did a great job looking after every table. We thoroughly enjoyed our seafood dishes and grilled vegetables and the house wine was a very acceptable Pinot Grigio.

Visited the other week. Food was ok but nothing special, can't see why it's rated so highly in an area out of the tourist area.

A night we won’t forget for the rest of our lives! No really, it is not a joke! Fresh and delicious food, great wine recommendation from the owner of the restaurant and unprecedented levels of warmth in the hosting from Alessio (star waiter) and Kliff (genius cook). After a lovely meal of fresh fish of all kinds from the lagoon, we stayed chatting and laughing late into the night, which was the perfect end to our time in Venice! Thanks guys :)
