My aunt and I were visiting Padua recently and we ended up in this restaurant. The place looked attractive from the outside and as sushi lovers we immediately decided to celebrate our afternoon with some good food and afternoon spritz aperols.
We we're welcomed by a waitress that was supposed to sit us in. We wanted to choose our table but she wasn't very clear on that option. She just kept walking behind us with a hand full of cutlery which made me feel under pressure to choose my seat. We were also not completely sure if we were supposed to pick a table ourselves or wait to be seated. She didn't take initiative so considering that the restaurant had enough seats, we chose a table.
A minute later another waitress came (cause the previous one did not speak English) and told us that the kitchen is going to close soon so we should order everything we want (or eventually will want later) now. This part I understand although we were already feeling unwelcome.
Anyhow, the food was great. Interior was great. The drinks were great. My aunt and I were enjoying our afternoon regardless the minor taste of being unwelcome. I rate the food high, but the customer experience was poor. At 3 o'clock our plates (some of them still full) and were taken away and we were "invited" to hurry up and leave. We had to literally drown our prosecco, stand up in the middle of the restaurant having all the staff looking at us with "come on" look on they faces. We tried to go out by the door we had entered through but it was locked. We spend around 30 sec trying to figure out why it can't open. No one came to unlock the door. We realized there is another door on the other side of the restaurant that was open, so now we had to walk pass the same group of judgemental employee eyes feeling that "why are you still here" look. In other words: "it's not ok!" After all when you are in the hospitality business you want to provide the best experience for your customers! They failed big time!
Hire new people! Let these ones go and tell them know why!
