We loved our 3week stay (work and holiday) and would highly recommend Padova Residences. Sara is a lovely warm host and communicates promptly by email and texts, responding to all enquiries, no matter how small. Tortora is a spacious modern 5th floor apartment with lift. We stayed in it as a family of 4 with young children and our friends (also a family of four) stayed opposite in Celeste which is smaller. TORTORA is stylishly decorated and has all the 'mod cons' including washing machine, dishwasher, air con (in every room), smart TV and wireless. Everything is new and in perfect working order and the apartment is spotless. The beds are very comfortable; the bedrooms are quiet (facing unused university buildings), the dining table seats 8. The view from the very large living-dining room into the green trees is uplifting. Opening the windows allows a beautiful cross breeze through the apartment. There is a rear balcony (great for drying washing). The street Giuseppe japelli is immediately adjacent to Garibaldi which is a through road with traffic and the occasional ambulance (the hospital is 7 min walk down this road, as are most university buildings). Buses run down this road also (servicing the railway station). The city is very safe being a university city and lots of people ride bicycles. From Tortora, you can walk to all the major sights: fresh produce market at piazza dell'erbe and under the colonne of palazzo ragione (500m), Giotto chapel (200m), San Antonio, Prato and San Giustina and major museums including Palazzo Bo and Cafe Pedrocchi. Excellent Pizzerias, restaurants, gelaterias, clothing shops and supermarkets are all within 200-500m. Padova' s summer was hot and the aircon was fabulous (electricity is an additional cost - we averaged 4 euros per day). Venice, Verona, Vincenzo and Abano Treme are all a train ride away.
