We had a lovely long weekend at Pilier d'Angle. It was in a great, pretty location close to the ski lift. The food was delicious and the restaurant staff were very friendly. The sauna and steam room were lovely, although you do have to pay. The manager is grumpy which was a shame as all the other staff were very polite.

Room tip: The rooms at the front are really nice with the best views although they are quite noisy as people sit out at night.

We spent five nights here, we were two couples getting in a few days skiing.
Overall, the hotel was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, very clean, really enjoyed the half board food, wine list was superb and staff are excellent. Plenty of hot water (would have liked a bath for aching legs) but I guess we could have gone to the spa, although we hadn't realised it was 15 euro per visit beforehand.
We arrived late and a meal had been left out for us, and a bottle of prosecco appeared which also helps. They also had to wait up until 2.30am for some other English people delayed by the weather.
Roooms arent' very soundproofed, but as most people are shattered after a day it didn't really matter.
Thinking hard about coming back for 4 nights with family at Christmas.
What I would say is don't buy the Cournmayeur/Chamonix lift pass (Mont Blanc Unlimited) get the Aosta one instead. We had a fab day at La Thuile. Had a day at Chamonix and meant to go back for a 2nd but the tunnel was blocked. Courmayeur itself is good for two days max we reckon.

Room tip: we had a room with a view over the ski resort side, really pretty

My boyfriend and I have just returned home from a 4 night stay at Hotel Pilier d’Angle and are already thinking about our stay next year.

The hotel is a €20 taxi ride or a 30 minute walk to Courmayeur town centre and a 5 minute drive to the Val Veny ski lift. We were pleasantly surprised that the hotel offered a shuttle service to and from the ski lift, we simply called when we needed picking up. You can also purchase lift passes from reception, which means that there is no need to stand in the long queues at the ski lift.

The breakfast buffet was superb, with a selection of cheeses, pastries, breads and meats on offer. We ate at the hotel restaurant twice during our stay and were seated by an open fire, which was the perfect setting. The food was impeccable and there was a great selection of wine on offer.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, we really couldn’t have asked for a better stay and we can’t wait to go back!

Before our stay we had to modify our Reservation - very easy per email, quick and sufficient reply in englisch. Hotel provides free parking and wifi which is very convinient. Stuff is very friendly and do their best to speak englisch. Half board was 30CHF and included 4 course dinner with choice of 3 disches for starter and main disch. Room was very warm (almost too hot so me had to switsch off the heating) and towels chanded every day. Spa is also really nice but as a Hotel guest you pay +15EUR per Person and +3.50EUR for the bath robe every day. Hotel provides shuttle to the ski lift - very convinient. Breakfast is great - perfect choice of fresch disched including boited eggs and local Salami and cheese. We recomend this Hotel for romantic or Family trip as in the evening there is not much to do and not many bars/Restaurants around.

We’d never been skiing in Italy before but had heard such good reviews for Courmayeur. The hotel was so lovely, the staff were incredibly friendly, the food was exceptional and the room was exactly what we wanted. Definitely recommend!
