We spent our first time in Cervinia (December 2017) as we had heard that the high altitude would make skiing in December a more viable option. We had a wonderful vacation! Plenty of snow and a winter wonderland. Hotel Hermitage was spectacular in every respect. The staff were knowledgable, professional and helpful to our every need, which we especially appreciate as first timers to the area. The hotel is gorgeous - perfect decor for the Italian Alps. The food and wine were phenomenal. There were several days when the large snowfall actually prevented us from skiing and we couldn't have been happier to have chosen such a wonderful hotel to relax in. We stayed in room 84 which was lovely and especially enjoyed the view of the Matterhorn from our window. Don't be turned off by the fact that the hotel is not a 'ski-in/ski-out' as it's much nicer being a bit removed from the center of town. The staff are happy to provide transportation to/from the slopes which is a few minutes ride as well as to other locations.
This is an establishment that takes hospitality seriously. We feel very fortunate and hope to return next year!More
