This place is truly a hidden gem in the midst of modern day Trento. Before you visit the site, I would advise you to go see the 3D movie. That gives you an excellent idea of what the site originally looked like.
Wherever parts of the original site are missing, modern structures fill in the gaps elegantly, softly guiding you to the next room... Sometimes glass is used on the floor to help you take a peek at the ingeniously constructed sewage system.
Also, the staff is super friendly, they assumed we spoke German (we speak Dutch, but we can manage in German, so no problem there), so they took the trouble to come and find us on the site to inform us that the movie in German was going to be shown.
You will not find a lot of 'visually exciting' artefacts like jewellry, weaponry, glasswork, but really, how often do you get a chance to walk on an actual ancient roman street?
