Thanks for looking after us by being in constant contact by message. The location was ideal. The No2 tram to the Duomo also the No2 tram up to Lanza is immediately outside the apartment, turn left to the Castello - impressive. Turn right to Brera with all the little streets and shops. The No9 tram to Venezia and walk back to Via Monta Napoleona where we spent a fortune on Armani and Versace outfits - I wish!
What a great location! The flat has a nice view down the popular Navigli canal, a trendy area full of restaurants and shops. We made our own antipasti from a nearly grocery and sipped complimentary prosecco as we watched the world and the occasional kayak go by.
The apartment is close to a tram and a metro stop, and Milan's transit system is easy to navigate. Metro offers easy access to all of Milan's attractions and to the train stations and airports. Karin and Abele were most helpful in answering our questions and orienting us to the area. We almost felt like locals by the end of our stay, compared to staying in a sterile hotel environment.
Some Americans will find the shower a little tight, but this was offset by finding an ice cube tray in the well equipped property. Ice cubes seem to be rare in Lombardy unless you order an Aperol Spritz. Milan was warm during our June visit so the air conditioning was useful overnight.
We would stay in this convenient flat again and recommend it highly.
This apartment couldn't be better placed. Overlooking the Navigli canal, the views from the balcony are just as they appear in the photgraph with the advantage of being far enough back to not be disturbed by the busy bars and cafes below. A couple of minutes walk is the metro with all the links you need to explore the city in a few stops; 25 minutes walk through interesting streets to the Duomo. And plenty of restaurants along the canal to choose from whether it's a quick espresso and pastry before setting out for the day or a delightful feast at the end of your exploring, in the knowledge that home is just a minute away. Karin was so kind and helpful and genuinely concerned that we should be happy in our stay and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet apartment with easy access to all the action.
In the heart of the very cool Naviglia region overlooking the canal. Very cosy apartment. Karin was a fabulous host, providing lots of information and checking in with us to make sure we had everything. Easy access to all the sights. An enjoyable stay.
Karin is a charming and attentive host and she is outstanding re communications before and after the trip. We had only three nights in Milan, checking in on Saturday afternoon and checking out early Tuesday morning and Sunday and Monday were solidly booked with tours. The comfortable apartment is in an older building with a elevator, which was very much appreciated as we had a lot (too much!) of luggage.
We took the train from Venice, and Karin met us as agreed. She thoughtfully provided information about Milan's attractions, pointed out a number of nearby restaurants (visible from the apartment window), showed us the nearby Metro station and told us where to shop for basic supplies, all of which was very helpful.
The neighborhood is lively, safe and apparently becoming trendy, but a bit removed from Milan's principal attractions. Be sure to call taxis when you need them as the taxi stand about 4 blocks away often was empty. We used 02 6969 and found them to be very prompt and totally reliable. They have both Italian and English-speaking operators.
