Friends had found this beautiful church by accident and encouraged us to visit. I would now pass on that suggestion. The walls and ceilings are covered with beautifully frescoes from 16th century. Particularly impressive is the Nuns' Hall behind the main church, which also has lovely choir stalls and a wonderful organ. It is free.

I enjoyed the building but not being much of a shopper I wasn't overwhelmed by the shops on the interior.

Small innocuous looking church that you would otherwise walk by but well worth calling in to see the frescoes which cover the entire wall surface.

Don't be fooled by the exterior; the interior is completely covered by beautiful frescoes that have been restored. The colors are brilliant and the effect is stunning. One could spend a couple hours inside the two sections of this this church examining all the beautiful artwork. We saw it with a tour guide and it was worth it getting an explanation on some of the many frescoes. There is an interesting wall dividing the public worship space and the private worship space reserved for the nuns who had made a vow of isolation from the outside world. The wall is open at the top so the sounds of the worship service can be shared, but the nuns could not be seen or see out. This church is definitely worth a visit.

Without a doubt a stunning church inside. Filled with paintings. Don’t judge this book by its cover.
