Owner description: Why visit a cemetery when you’re on vacation, you ask? The tombs at this Milan burial ground offer a great glimpse of Italian artistic styles from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

“An outdoor sculpture museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

Read about this on TripAdvisor and couldn't agree more with the other travelers in regards to this being a "must see"! I recommend you see the review of Rasputin21 from Sept 2011 for a current and wonderfully detailed description of the Cemetery. We printed his review out and felt it added to our visit. My husband, who has never understood my fascination for cemeteries, thoroughly enjoyed it. You will have to go through a large construction site to enter the grounds but this is not difficult as the main entrance is obvious. Once inside the grounds you can feel the peace and tranquility surrounding you in a meticulously attended environment. Well worth an hour or two!

“Rest in style!”

If you like seeing ridiculous expenditure on funerary architecture, this is the place! Don't be put off by the massive excavations for the new metro line which seem to block your approach.

The size of the monuments cannot be described, they have to be seen to be believed. From impressive to gauche and everything else in between

“Quirky but so glad we made the effort.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 January 2012

This is place is on a scale unheard of in our country - NZ. We took our lunch and happily wandered around for about three hours. It is off the tourist track, is peaceful, sad and beautiful at the same time. It is about 1.5 miles from city centre. We walked but was a bit tricky to find.
