Skipper is open-air and on a small, anchored barge attached to the street-side dock. Ambiance on a warm, Italian evening was the best part of the dinner. The food was good Italian (is there "bad" Italian?) and was reasonably priced. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is within an easy walk of most of the hotels along the waterfront. We enjoyed the evening and will definitely return.

Interesting floating dock provides seating for outdoor dining. Additionally, there are tables located on the dock and outdoor tables directly in front of the restaurant with heat lamps for cooler evenings. We enjoyed a good dinner however we felt that our Waiter was spending the majority of time with what appeared to be a large group of Yacht owners. Skipper was our least favorite dinner during our week in Santa Margherita primarily due to lack of service and food which was not spectacular.

We had a most enjoyable meal here.
The business is family run so its well run.
You need to book as its the 1st restaurant on the Boat docking port area so everyone seems to stop here 1st!
That being said our food was excellent.
Great Pasta with seafood!
Good desserts.
Good service.
All equals happy customers

At the recommendation of a tour guide we went to Skipper for lunch. The menu for lunch is disappointing because most options are heavy pasta or fish dishes typically found on dinner menus. My husband had the mussels in red pepper sauce which he liked a lot. I had the prosciutto with melon because there wasn’t any other light options besides a mixed salad. Prosciutto was not high quality, mostly fat. Our biggest complaint was that the beautiful bread basket they brought to the table was all stale bread.

The location is nice and the pontoon boat is a nice addition where you can sit and watch the ducks and fish - along with the garbage floating in the harbor.

We didn’t hate it but would not go back.

We had octopus and potato and truffle gnocchi for starters and both had Scampi in Cream sauce
The truffle sauce had a small amount of truffle in a cream sauce and was unimpressive. The octopus was nicely cooked.
The Scamp were very poor quality with minimal meat and for two plates we were charged 60 Euros. The sauce was too salty.
Service was aloof and condescending.
