The very best accomodation at our Italy- trip. Nice room, nice, quite environment, the best hosts you can immagine. A must have for all loving hills, silence and adventure roads. The trip from main road to the B&B took about 15 minutes. The road is in a good condition but tight. A really original hill road.

...if you ask me!!
This place is only half an our by car to a nice inexpensive beach, but located in beautiful mountains. They have cats,a dog,a sheep,a rabbit and amazing ,friendly insects that i would have never expected in italy!
Here you can find what you want: silence at the pool or a nice chat with the other guests or even better, with Lou and Leo the most loveliest hosts! They do a great job up there. They keep the rooms very clean and comfortable. They serve a tasty breakfast and the dinners we had there were very delicious. Pherhaps it's the sourrounding nature and ambiance but surely the fact, that everything Lou and Leo do, is done with friendlyness, soul and always relaxed, which make the farmhouse castagnola highly recommendable!!!

We discovered this place by chance and found us in one of the most unexpectedly beautiful places. Situated on the hills of the Ligurian coast, it is relatively close to the beach and the lovely town of Sestri.
The road to the hotel is windy and narrow, and you can be sure to get away from the tourist masses. The owners Lu and Leo are the most welcoming lovely people who serve you with homemade food and lots of good tips for the area.
We loved our stay!

One of the top rare spots I've visited around the world. Fantastic views of the surrounding mountains with lots of wild life. The steep drive up the narrow mountain roads to the place are a nice add on for those seeking some adventure. The place are not that easy to reach with small children or elderly citizens. This is not the place to visit for a shopping vacation. The family running the B&B are nice and helpful. Breakfast served was 5+, I would love to visit the place again!

We just spent 6 nights and enjoyed a lovely relaxing stay. Would highly recommend it if you are looking for an Italian escape far from the madding crowd. The surrounding mountains are enchanting with breathtaking views, olive groves and woodland, the sounds of nature, fragrances from flowers and herbs growing, and beautiful clean air. Our room was very nice with a panoramic view. Breakfasts (with fresh homemade cake) served on the terrace every morning were lovely. Having a plunge pool and sun deck was a real bonus. Lou and Leo are great hosts and we enjoyed fresh pizza from the wood oven one evening and lovely homemade melanzane alla parmigiana for dinner another night.

The surrounding area is very nice and places like Portofino and the Cinque Terra make lovely excursions. There is a fantastic trattoria just down the hill called La Brinca (see Michelin Guide for details) which serves beautiful food and has a great wine list.

The road up the mountain does require careful navigation and on the first climb the steps up to the B&B are a challenge as the website highlights, but we found both were manageable and well worth the climb. You will be rewarded with a very tranquil experience. We shall certainly go back again!
