On a road trip from uk to puglia and was looking for somewhere not a faceless box by side of motorway and this is it, absolutely stunning. Yes you have to drive up a windy mountain track for 20 minutes or so but thats part of the experience as when you arrive you can only say WOW! Ive stayed in many places all over the world and this has to be one of the best views from your window. Great little pool to cool off on a hot summers day, a very welcome cold beer on arrival and a delicious homecooked meal. Room was large , clean and comfortable , Lou and Leo are perfect hosts, my only regret is not staying any longer.

Farmhouse Castagnola is a little bit far away from everything. In the first route, the road was cut off due to collapse, and the other possible routes fortunately was okay. Sure, it was a narrow and complicated path along the mountainside and co-driver was clearly tense.

Eventually we got across was no longer to gain long and bumpy stone steps. Reception was very friendly, we were very welcome, and we were directed to our room. After a long journey were offered refreshments and the opportunity to attend the dinner.

It was just what we needed.

Owner couple's cooperation in our table floated a delicious meal. Delicious appetizer, tasty main course and right on heavenly dessert. Master of the house, which worked as a cook, brought to offer a glass of Grappa.

Awesome. Best dining complex throughout the two-week trip to Italy.

Before going to bed, we had a little walk in the area above the place of accommodation in the road where the fireflies flew against the silhouette of the mountains. Just like in a fairy tale.

It is clear that sleep interfered with none of the extra sound and scene could have been more beautiful. The mountain contours and stars in the sky.

After a stay of one night in the fabulous place, it was time to move on. All in all, this was an unforgettable experience and I can recommend the place to anyone who manage to climb 150 steps. Price level was very reasonable and the whole place is absolutely fantastic.

Thanks again to owners of great service, excellent food and a wonderful experience.

I've been there for one night. Road is quite narrow but pefectly feasible.
i've been in a structure downstair (so the famous 176 steps have been skip at the beginning.

Nice and simple room. ( I came with a fan..great idea as there is no aircon)
morning after we managed the stair and enjoyed a good breakfast. The owners are kind and helpful
Important . They dont manage other payment than cash.

Room Tip: ask for downstair rooms (close to the parking)

Thank you for taking the time to write such a positive review.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay at The Priest's House and I have noted the need for a fan ...as it was an unexpected particularly hot summer I hadn't considered one but will do for the future, thank you for your feedback, much appreciated .

Lovely stay in this beautifully restored farmhouse. We arrived extremely late at night, but our host was there to welcome us and even provided a delicious home cooked meal. Perfect after the long drive up! View from our bedroom was stunning.
Great atmosphere, fantastic staff.

Myself, my wife and our girls aged 13 and 10 spent 5 days/nights here during our 13 day tour of North Italy and we wished we had booked longer as the rest of our holiday was hectic living out of a suitcase and checking into different hotels almost daily. It was so nice to be able to fully unpack and feel properly at home for a few days in our spacious 2 bedroom annex which even had its own patio area where we liked to sit in the evening and watch the stunning view slowly dissappear as the sun set. We also enjoyed sitting around the pool area in the afternoon once we returned from a day exploring the beautiful Italian Riviera and the kids absolutely loved splashing around in the little pool. Lu and Leo made us feel very welcome and on 2 occasions we took the option of having an evening meal which was very nice as was the daily breakfast. The accommodation/beds/bathroom etc was perfect and as for the location....... Stunning!! If you follow their written instructions to the letter when you first arrive you will find them with no problem. The farmhouse is a great base to explore Cinque Terre, Portofino and many of the other little coastal towns and we also drove to Pisa one day which took little more than an hour to get to....... Would we go back?? Yes definitely!!
