We stayed for six nights at this beautiful hillside vantage above the bay of Monterosso - what a place! Tommy collected us from the waterfront and quickly we found ourselves at our stone-built destination. Apartments are excellent and simply but tastefully furnished and well provided for you to make yourself feel at home - make a cup of tea or coffee, drink some of Tommy's own produced wine and relax on the terraces. Breakfast is served by Tommy and Elena on the dining terrace and every home produced mouthful is enhanced by the view across the bay. Tommy's dad will arrive on his trail bike, a septuagenarian biker, who will fill you in on the history of the village and his family's history there. He's a proud man, with a fine estate and family to be proud of and is a most entertaining "lord of the manor". Tommy's evening meals are a treat and are prepared using the produce of the farm or the bay. The walk into the village is through the lush estate, with palm, fig and olive trees, vineyards and kiwi fruit groves, the cheery fruit of the lemon trees shine through the green canopy. There's a bridge across a waterfall on the ten minute walk down to the village and the slightly longer walk back will ensure that you burn off some of the excesses you have imbibed. This has to be one of the best...We stayed for six nights at this beautiful hillside vantage above the bay of Monterosso - what a place! This has to be one of the best stays in the area - no pressure, just a relaxing, picturesque location with perfect hosts. Thanks Tommy, Elena and Dad.More
