We had a great stay here for a few nights while visiting Cinque Terre. Manarola is amazing and my favorite of the 5 towns. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was great for me (even though I'm gluten free - there was plenty to eat). The room was really comfortable (we were in room 4) and had a great view over the swimming area and sunset. We were really comfortable here with great sleeping conditions. They have remodeled and have done a pretty good job.

Only minor complaints is the shutters don't quite block out the AM light and there's some mildew / mold starting on the walls by the window. But they seem to keep the place pretty up to date and clean. We were really happy here.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were very helpful and breakfast (included) was excellent. Our room had a balcony with a beautiful view of the ocean. The only downsides were that the bed was quite firm and safe was not large enough to fit a typical laptop. Also no elevator, so would recommend taking a small bag only! Otherwise was a lovely stay!

We had an excellent time staying at Hotel Marina Piccola, we were welcomed upon arrival and had the hotel explained to us, he showed us our room which was absolutely stunning.

We didn’t experience the issues some others have shared about unfriendly staff, they’d always greet us and helped with restaurant bookings.

Our room was on the top floor, we absolutely loved it and had the best stay. The only trouble is there are no lift, carrying the luggage up could be a bit of an exercise but you really only do that once. The view you are rewarded with more than makes up for it.

Breakfast was fresh and sufficient, coffee was fantastic. The large dining table was shared with other travellers staying at the hotel, it had a nice friendly communal feel.

We visited all five towns and we are definitely glad we picked Manarola, which gave us the best compromise between choices of excellent restaurants but not super packed like Venazza. The hotel is also located perfectly as it is within a few steps from the towns swimming spot.

Yes there were some water damage at the window frame in the bathroom. But seriously, for where you are, and the view, it’s not even an issue.

We are already talking about coming back for a longer stay.

Big hotel room with a modern interior, unfortunately not very well maintained (dusty) and especially the hygiene in bathroom could use severe improvements.
Breakfast is not what can be expected for the price that is being paid, products are not always fresh (fruits) and the buffet is not being filled regularly.
On a good note, the location is really nice and the hotel provides a unique location on a very touristy spot in Manarola. Staffing is friendly and helpful but points mentioned above are to be taken into account.
Unfortunately the supply and demand rule make that the hotel is not the best quality/price ratio.
We did enjoy our stay but were a bit disappointed overall quality.

This is my first time to Manarola/Cinque Terre and I think we lucked out SO much with the Hotel Marina Piccola! Just a heads up, Manarola is overcrowded by tourist groups in July (I completely recognize I a guest in the town as well)- but it looked like bus groups and cruise ships dropped off groups of 30-40 people like crazy in July/August when we stayed. It was crazy! BUT the Hotel was a perfect respite from the chaos. The rooms were cool, modern, and we had THE view the tour companies were dropping people off for (picture is from Room 11 where we stayed)! We were a short walk to a quieter swimming hole with really nice snorkeling (locals told me it’s not the best... but it was still really awesome!). It was close to train and when everyone cleared out at night- Manarola was the BEST place ever. So relaxed, so friendly. We heard we should return in September and I absolutely would stay here. Btw- I read a review of this hotel that mentioned if you don’t have kids they were not very kind... I am sorry that was a review. We had incredible service. Jessica helped us get baggage service back to the parking lot, helped us find a great boat guide, helped me find good snorkeling gear, and helped us get settled in our room telling us about the features. The rest of the staff as similarly wonderful- we just happened to work with Jessica the most.
