From our first visit a year before, this place disappointed. A late dinner opening means a rush of patrons came at once; not uncommon in Italy but the staff could not handle it. Gramigne with salciccia were good but an "osso bucco" offered as a daily special was, frankly, awful - tough, dry, and perhaps not even a veal shank. Maybe the headwaitress was trying to sell something a day old? A Pepe verde fillet had an odd sauce, possessing nothing of the magnificence of the previous version. Left us thinking something has changed here - not for the better.

Decor as you come in is quite tacky and the bathroom had no working tap.

We ordered pasta to begin with which was fine, but pretty small and average tasting for the price. We ordered potatoes to accompany this, which they didn’t actually bring until after we ate the pasta...which meant we sat sharing a bowl of potatoes as a main. We then ordered the zucchini flower to try and make us feel slightly full...it was gross!!!! So greasy and had so much batter on it I spent more time peeling the batter off than eating it. It also cost €11 for 2 tiny zucchini heads.

We then went to pay which took ages as the waiter watched the football on the telly as we tried to pay.

Will never return. Don’t recommend.

Stellar stellar pasta, freshly made in-house, mom taking your order, dad coming around and asking about the wine, son manning the front, this is pretty much the quintessential Bologna experience.
Yes there is a menu, but really, listen to mom's recitation. And yes, if they have the mortadella-stuffed ravioli, get it - that, in and as of itself, makes the whole meal worth it :-)
Of course, so does pretty much everything else they have - just go in, relax, and have an excellent lunch/dinner...

We tried this restaurant since it was nearby and had great ratings...and loved it so much, we went back for a second time! We were fortunate to be there during truffle season, so an additional menu of truffle dishes was offered. Start with stuffed zucchini blossoms which, while breaded and deep-fried, are aslight as air. The pasta is excellent: try the tortellini in broth (brodo) which is a Bologna specialty. We had a number of pasta dishes between our two visits, as well as a delightful dish consisting of a tender breaded pork cutlet, layered with prosciutto and cheeses and finished with a creamy sauce and truffles. The tiramisu is made to order, so there is still some cake that remains undrenched, and all is covered with the creamiest marscapone. Great wine list.
Be sure to consult with Manuela about your menu choices, she will take very good care of you!

We had really good salade con carciofi here, pasta con funghi was good, but no excell, we did not eat desert so no clue how they perform in that area. Location and atmosphere is very nice, inside as well as outside below the beautiful and classical Bologna portico. Service is good, although the lady who takes orders tries to squeeze more order form tourists, but not annoying. Little pricy dough.
So, if in center and want to sit outside, under typical portico shade, then this could be better option then some tourists trapp in Via Clavature.
