“Massive appartment in great location”
Reviewed 7 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

A loft room could signify a small room with a cramped bedroom. This Is not the case here. Downstairs the lounge dining room and kitchen area is over 50 sq meters. Up the stairs to a double bed set in 35 sq meters, not counting the ensuite facilities. A fully equipped small kitchen completes your accommodation. A nice touch when we arrived was the iced water in the fridge and 2 complimentary sachets of coffee for the coffee making machine.
There is a flat screen TV, a video player and would you believe, even an upright piano in the lounge that also contains a couch that converts to a double bed. A private entrance off the street allows you total privacy.
Your host/owner is Giulio who is delighted to welcome you to the appartment that he occupied in the family home whilst a student. He lives and works within 50 meters so is there when required, for example when we needed advice on what, and if to tip waiters at restaurants. Note, it is NOT expected so the bill you receive is what they expect to be paid.

You are in the area of student eating paces and night clubs but within 10 minutes walk you are right in the centre of the old city with massive squares such as Piazza Maggiore and Piazza Neptune with there are centuries old Churches and buildings you will delight to find whilst walking under the many porticos that surround you at every turn and still exist in great quantity.

Bologna is on a mission to establish itself as a great tourist destination and is cleaning some of the centuries old grime from the marble that still exists on the great buildings. It is an ugly duckling fast turning into a swan and we loved our 4 days there.
The loft room, take it you won't be disappointed.

“Plenty of character and comfort.”
Reviewed 24 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Having travelled through Italy many times and stayed at numerous rental apartments, I consider this among my favourites.
This time I travelled with my 79-year old mother, and we were both very content with the accommodation.

First, the location is superb. Via Del Pratello is a narrow street of historic buildings not open to car traffic. It has plenty of small bars and shops and feels very safe.
A major street, Via Marconi, where there is a bus stop (we used #21 and #30 to get to the train station, 5-7 minutes ride) and a taxi stop, is at a minute’s walk from the apartment. Two grocery stores (PAM and PAM local) are 5 min walk away. Also, a fine food market (Mercato Delle Erbe) is very close.

The apartment is on the ground floor of a historic house, As the space has very high ceilings, the sleeping area and the bathroom has been cleverly placed on a split level. The stairs to the upper level have a hand-railing and my mother had no trouble with it at all. The beds can be separated or moved together easily.

There were many aspects we found delightful: the design, the furniture, the old ceiling beams, the feeling of spaciousness, the elegant bathroom, the comfortable bedding, etc. Everything was very clean.

The kitchen is rather small but we found it more than adequate for preparing quick meals.

The proprietor Giulio was a very kind host and also made the the check-in and check-out a breeze.

To sum up, it was a visit that is a pleasure to remember, and should I return to Bologna, I would book it again without hesitation.

We stayed one week and found it beautifully located, comfortable, and well priced. We were able to discover all parts of the city from this base. Great to be able to come home and rest up, then go out again. Great to have internet! The owner Giulio was extremely friendly and helpful. We definitely would stay there again.
