We stayed at Crostic hotel in Rome and must admit that the hotel room is really big and spacious. It is also one of the cleanest too! The location is also convenient. The staff are friendly and helpful. Will highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

This is a budget friendly hotel. I would look elsewhere before booking. It is within walking distance to the train station but not much else. Room is average for European hotel. Nothing fancy. Breakfast standard (pastry, yogurt, juice, coffee)

My husband and I spent two nights in Rome, Florence and Venice, and this hotel was our least favorite. There were a couple reasons we didn't love it compared to the others. First of all, we were given a room directly above the breakfast area and it was unbelievably loud in the early, early morning hours. It was really frustrating for us because we couldn't sleep through it (we're talking about 4 am- 5 am). I'm assuming others rooms have a better situation and maybe we just got unlucky there.

The hotel staff wasn't very friendly (again, this isn't according to American standards– this is compared to the other hotels we stayed in during our Italy trip). They weren't rude, but they weren't nice either.

The room is plain and functional. The shower is very tiny, and it's the only room we stayed in that didn't have a bathtub. Each other hotel also had a hair dryer, but this one did not. The bed was really firm, but we found that to be true of all the hotels we stayed in. Italians like a firm bed and thin pillows!

The breakfast was OK. Again, it was our least favorite of the three hotels we stayed in. It's totally great that it was free, but we couldn't find many things that we liked. We ended up eating hard boiled eggs and bananas.

It's not super close to many sites, but we were able to travel to everything on foot (although our legs were beyond tired and many people would probably take public transit). There are some restaurants nearby, so that helps. It is close to the Termini.

The value of the hotel probably reflects the concerns we listed above. I would advise you to ask for a room that's not above the breakfast area, especially if you are a light sleeper!

We stayed 3 nights at the Crosti Hotel at the beginning of a 3 week holiday. The hotel is in a quiet location not far from the Termini where our shuttle bus from the airport dropped us off. We were able to walk to the hotel with our luggage with little fuss.
We had an extremely good welcome at check-in and we took the small ancient lift to the 3rd floor. The room was very comfortable, no complaints whatsoever, culminating in a very relaxing sleep over the next 3 nights due to the hotel’s quiet location.
Had breakfast at the hotel in the downstairs dining room on each of the 3 days and were very impressed. A typical continental breakfast with a good variety of meats, cheeses, pastries, cereals etc, coupled with very good service.
Rome is certainly a walking city and we found that the Crosti’s location was well within walking distance of all the major sights, and this allowed us to explore more of the city than we had originally planned.
There are some nice restaurants close by including La Vincenza (just up the street) which the hotel has an affiliation with and provides discount. Had a lovely lunch there prior to our departure.
We would recommend the Crosti Hotel to anyone staying in Rome and would definitely go back there again.

We stayed here when we visited Rome for our Honeymoon. If you’re unfamiliar with Rome, navigating the streets can be an adventure. It took us a little bit to find the hotel, but once we knew where we were at, it was easy to relocate.

PROS:
-This hotel is close enough to the Termini to walk, but far away from the termini to where you aren’t staying in a questionable part of the city.
-The closet was pretty roomy for most traveler needs.
-The room was well lit.
-The water pressure and temperature were consistently good.
-The room was clean and simple.
-The front desk was courteous and helpful.
-This hotel is in between two metro stations (Termini & Republica), which made getting across Rome a snap.
-The towels were big and fluffy.
-Even though the traffic downstairs was busy and noisy, the windows kept the room quiet when closed.
-The room had a nice tile floor.
-Our room (204) was a nice corner room that overlooked the street below, and had a nice cross breeze when the windows were opened.
-The bathroom was spacious, clean, and modern.
-The breakfast was awesome, and kept us full until dinner.

CONS:
-The room had no stationery.
-There is no clock in the room. Pack accordingly.
-The TV had one channel in English.
-The bed had a comforter, and the fitted sheet, but NO top sheet.
-The elevator is the scary cage type. We used it once when we checked in. The rest of the time, we opted for stairs.
-No wash cloths
-The air conditioner was never really cold. Unfortunately, it was HOT when we visited Italy.
-The restaurants near this hotel were not that great. I would use Trip Advisor next time to locate better eateries.
-The bed mattress was really firm. Not the most comfortable sleep I’ve ever had.
-You can’t call the front desk directly like most hotels. You basically have to dial out to call them. It was odd.
-The power shuts off in the room when the key is removed from the wall socket. I guess this is standard in Europe, but it surprised my wife when I went downstairs with the key, and she was in the shower.
-No tissues.

We would stay here again. The breakfast, location, and room made it a worthwhile place to stay if we ever came back to Rome.

Room Tip: Room 204 is a nice corner room. Take food from the breakfast (cookies, nutella, fruit, etc) and bring them with you. Use them as a lunchtime snack. If traveling as a couple, bring two small suit cases rather than one large one. The brutal streets of Rome, and limited cargo space on trains make a large suitcase a huge burden.
