This 2 star hotel is as you would expect. However Mary and Carlos are the warmest hosts and could not be more welcoming or helpful. Our double room was more than adequate. Our hosts thoughtfully provided a large array of breakfast goodies including fresh croissants daily, milk, coffee, juice, yoghurt and a selection of biscuits and crackers together with fresh fruit!
The location of the hotel is excellent. Five minutes walk to Termini station although we walked to the majority of the attractions. There are several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and a couple if supermarkets. We visited Babbo, a fabulous restaurant round the corner with excellent food and service.

In conclusion we highly recommend Welrome for a slice of real italian hospitality.

Rome was the last stop in my maiden trip to Italy.

Italy was not as i thought it would be but Carlos and Mary proves warm Italian hospitality still exist.

They are attentive to ensure you have a good rest and provide very detail info for Rome so no worries if you have not done your research.

It's a 2stars hotel and feels like stepping back in time. However room is spacious and modern days necessity such as TV, WIFI and Fridge are provided. Although i would also prefer modern hair dryer with stronger power.

Hotel location is safe and still considered near to metro and Termini train station.

You can get simple and cheap food at the restaurant next to it.

Mary and Carlos are great hosts. This 2 star hotel is in a great location. Near all forms of travel and minutes from the train station. There is a restaurant right next door that is really good. We ate there most nights. The rooms are not fancy nor spacious but the price is right. And the Inn keepers are really, really helpful. Always looking for ways to save you money. Has tv with no English speaking stations. Also near this street is a hotel with a bar on the roof with a great view. You can go up and have a drink.

We stayed here in April 2017 for 5 nights. Great location as close walking distance from Termini. The room was very spacious with large closet and safe, the king bed was firm and comfortable, and the basket of fresh morning cornetti and juice were wonderful! They also have a basket with snacks, coffee, tea, small pot, and a small stocked frig in the room with juice, water, and great orange soda...that is all free! The advice and service of Mary and Carlo is impeccable and worth coming here itself. You don't have to read up on anything before you come as their advice is like Rick Steves books. They guided us to use the easy metro and bus system. Mary walked us to the bus stop to make sure we got on the correct bus. They kept one bag while we traveled to the Amalfi coast for a few days. Carlo also helped us to the SIT bus as we had an extra box to take back to the US. This was our second time staying here. Being retired and on a budget Mary and Carlo know exactly how to experience Rome if you want to save money. (Like take the SIT bus from Termini to the airport instead of a cab or train. It was 6€ each and only had one other pick up stop.) Being near Termini it is so easy returning to the hotel no matter where you are in Rome...everything goes to Termini. We will always come back to the Welrome as it's wonderful hotel with a reasonable rate and we have made wonderful friends with Mary and Carlo. PS...2 highlights this trip. Visit the Gesu church at 5:30 for a 20 min. explanation about St. Ignatius life. Along with various spotlights here and there, they lower the huge beautiful oil painting and expose a huge silver statue with jewels! it's in Italian but there is a womderful surpise after 20 minutes and it was free!. Make sure you are there for the entire show not to miss the impact at the end. We felt this was as fantastic as the Sistine Chapel! We then took a short walk across the bridge and ate in Trastevere. Again, Mary and Carlo will guide you to the correct buses. Also the National museum is awesome.

Room tip: You have to decide which cornetto to get delivered in the AM... plain, chocolate, or cream....such a decision!

Mary and Carlo are the perfect hosts with providing lots of information, going the extra mile on service and the accommodation is clean, safe and well located. It was our third visit to Roma in April 2016 and we were accompanied by my sister and her husband. They too appreciated Welrome and the friendly caring approach Mary and Carlo give. A great place to stay in a beautiful city.
