“Nightmare. We have been robbed there.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 August 2011

The stay started awful. The rooms were dirty, and old. The beds were in bad condition and sheets were yellow-dirty. Worse thing happened in the night. While we were sleeping some burglars went to our room and stole our money and jewellery. But the worst thing was that the receptionist didn't wanted to help us, he didn't call the police, and didn't tell where the police station was. Till now they didn't contact with us according insurance.

My family (four adults) was visiting Italy for 10 days and this was the worst hotel experience that we had. The hotel was extremely poorly run. First, it took almost 2 hours to get settled into our rooms because they were not prepared at all. We had booked two double rooms, and they gave us one room with only one twin bed in it and a second room whose key did not work. They tried fixing the key and finding another room on that floor but could not do either, so they finally sent us to the top floor, to what initially looked like a nice pair of new rooms with small balconies. However, that floor of the hotel is clearly not yet finished. The rooms did not have phones (at all), the supposedly free wifi did not reach that high up so you had to go down to a chair on the lobby of the 2nd floor to use it, and the kicker: there was no hot water. When we asked about the hot water, they said they had to reset the boiler, after which one of the two rooms got water that was lukewarm, but the other room's water remained cold. I took cold showers both mornings and they weren't hot at night either. When we came back to the room after a day of sightseeing no one had cleaned up the room or fixed the bed or anything. Plus, the breakfast was poor, the workers seem overworked and underpaid, the location is not very central (we were okay with this, because the hotel is clearly cheaper than some others), and the service is just generally pretty awful. The one pro: the breakfast area has a good, functional coffeemaker. The upshot is that I would not recommend this hotel, even for budget travelers, until they management gets its act together.

The hotel is in a good location close to central station but for fraction of the price you could probably get a better room around the area. The reception is excellent, thanks to Jacob but the rest is really struggling. The cleaner can be trusted and a nice lady! Although the sheet has not changed for 7 days. The walls need repainting and the bed is not comfortable. The window better opened as the airconditioning isnt working properly. Television only in Italian and wirings are all over the place. The safe key were missing and furnishing is really rubbish. No internet connection even when mentioned that this can be accessed at the reception or bfast area. Although they were helpful to let me use their computer when Im needing to print a boarding pass. The reception is extremely helpful..... If you are after a descent bfast avoid Giotto Flavia.

The location is good in terms of restaurants. The restaurant prices are ripped off but that is a standard Rome price. 5 Euros for Coffee and Softdrinks and 3 for Water. Dont be deceived by a cheapy look of a place to eat look for their prices first before ordering. You are talking about 15-40 euros per person per meal in Rome. Bring lots of water + crisp + softdrinks + bread etc if you wish to cut cost.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 days. Considering the price was 35 euros per night, it's very cheap. Also, staff is very polite and nice, and location is cool, near Republica and Termini station. You also have free wifi on the reception. I loved bathrooms, and I was surprised reading other reviews claiming it's noisy, cos I haven't heard any noise, and I am insomniac. The elevator sucks a bit. Oh and i dont think tv worked but who needs tv when in Rome. Other than that, i would ceirtanly come back in giotto flavia hotel again.

This hotel is very tired (holes in the walls, scrapes on the doors where they had previously been jimmied open) - it didn't feel safe at all. The airconditioning didn't work (should have known something was wrong when we spotted the electric fan on the dresser) and there were cobwebs in the corners of the very tiny room (supposed to be a triple room). The bathroom sink plug was blocked, the TV remote didn't work and worst of all the base of the bed was broken - every time my husband or I rolled over the bed base made the most horrendous scraping sound - we were half expecting plywood splinters to start poking up through the mattress! We stayed in similarly priced hotels in other Italian cities that were far nicer, so it was not a reflection of the price.
