First of all, if you have any doubts about booking the hotel just try to send an email to the Hotel and I am sure you will end up booking it. That is exactly what happened with us. Me and wife stayed for 3 days in Hotel Golden in the second week of January 2018 and we had a fantastic time.

From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, we felt as a part of the Loria family. Even before arrival to Rome, Giuseppe was always there to help us with any of our questions, he was an amazing help.

We arrived late at night and booked the cab service through the hotel and Giuseppe was there to greet us at the reception and was kind enough to offer us a free upgrade with an amazing view of the Aurelian wall. The room was spacious, comfy bed, nice bathroom and a great shower :).

Breakfast was good, everything is oven fresh and mamma always welcomed us with a motherly hug. One thing that I really like to highlight was mamma's willingness to cater to our dietary restrictions which we really appreciate. Spinach and Cheese Omelette was our energy booster for the day.

Barberini and Spagna metro is accessible by foot, approx 10 mints walk along with the bus stops (Venetto). Neighborhood is very safe and secure and we felt very safe walking at night to the hotel.

Giuseppe gave us an Introduction to Rome 101 lesson about the city history, best pizza and Gelato place and other hidden gems in the city. He spent good 15-20 minutes with us explaining the city and giving us great tips.

All and all we had a great time at Hotel Golden and whenever I will visit Rome again, this will be my home.

As promised by all the other reviewers ... PLUS Marco who checked us in was an excellent guide to the city. He pointed out all the main tourist areas we should go and how to get there (buses or metro to take), all the routes, restaurants. It was like having a tour guide concierge (the first we encountered). Lovely family hotel. Not really walking distance to St Peter's or Colosseum (but near the gardens) - but if you're comfortable getting around public transport, this is a nice place to stay (hospitality A+).

Room Tip: During low season they may upgrade you to a better room? :)

After researching online for the best hotels at an affordable price in Rome, I came across the reviews of the Hotel Golden and just knew I had to stay there during my trip. The reviews did not disappoint as my best friend and I had an incredible stay at Hotel Golden! The minute we walked in the door and checked in with Marco, we were instantly welcomed with a map of Rome and recommendations for food, tourist attractions, shopping, leisure activities, and options on how to get to each of those destinations. Marco and Giuseppe helped us a ton and were always incredibly hospitable and enthusiastic each and every time.

The hotel’s location is very close to the metro, but it is also within walking distance to many tourist attractions such as the Trevi fountain and Spanish steps. We were even able to walk to the Vatican (approximately a 40-minute walk). There are also TONS of restaurants and gelato shops nearby. If you are feeling indecisive, it does not hurt to ask Marco or Giuseppe for more recommendations as they will gladly assist.

One of the best perks of staying at this hotel is the DELICIOUS breakfast buffet that was served every morning. Food was always fresh and there are so many selections to choose from. Both mom and the sister prepared and served breakfast ensuring that a dish never runs low. Their smiles and warmth were always a delight to see!

Before our departure, Giuseppe was kind enough to arrange a van to pick us up from the hotel and take us to the airport along with another couple who stayed at the hotel. This helped us out tremendously as we did not have to spend a lot of money taking a cab and worrying about getting to the airport on time.

All I can say is that from the minute we walked into the hotel’s doors until the minute we left, we were catered to and treated like family. The hotel exceeded my expectations and I will surely always recommend it to any of my friends looking to book a trip to Rome!

Good budget choice for Rome. We stayed in the Superior room, which was big enough to accommodate us and (lots of) luggage without feeling cramped. Breakfast was better than the usual two-star hotel fare. The family are very, very helpful with any questions you have - where to eat, help booking restaurants, directions, etc. Nothing was too much trouble. Location is about 10 minutes walk to the Spanish steps., perhaps 20 minutes to the Trevi fountain. Near bus and underground stops. Only negative is it was a littl noisy in the mornings (we had earplugs).

Room Tip: Room 101 is near the kitchen/dining area so can be noisy in the morning

We (me, my wife and our 16 years old daugther) stayed 2 nights. We find a confortable room and courteous and helpful staff. The breakfast is rich and the hotel is silent. The Hotel is quite close to city center, the nearest famous place is Trinita dei Monti e Piazza di Spagna .
