Booked this as part of my husbands surprise 50th Birthday present.
It was our first time in Rome, when arriving at the hotel Giuseppe, came out to greet us which was such a lovely touch.
Our visit was brief due to other commitments but with the help and guidance of Giuseppe we made a plan and set off walking through Rome. Starting at a tiny pizza bar 2mins from hotel, I had potato pizza, I know sounds odd but fabulous.
Several hours later map in hand we had seen many of the major sights including a recommendation from Giuseppe to visit : San Clemente ★★
It’s a few blocks from the Colosseum and is the best place in Rome to see the layer-cake effect of its history in action: church piled atop church piled atop pagan temple... amazing!
Hotel is very clean and rooms I found were of a good size. My son had a single room which he said was also comfortable.
Breakfast was included, which was a nice touch but it was a little compact due to breakfast room size.
I would highly recommend walking through Rome to really get the best from the city.
We all loved the hotel and how we were really looked after, nothing was ever too much trouble.
We hope to be back later in the year with friends.More
