I have been meaning to write this review for about 6 months! The very first time we walked into Slurp, my boyfriend and I felt instantly at home. The paninis are delicious but once you get to know Mario - the lovely man behind the counter - you will realize the real beauty lays in his home-cooked meals like cannelloni, lasagna, and tuna pasta (I'm a pescetarian and there is always something yummy). If you are a meat eater, try the porchetta and vegetables! It's healthy and fresh and somehow I never end up paying more than 10 Euros per meal.

Mario's dedication to his food and customers is unrivaled and, quite frankly, something you don't see often today. When someone treats you and the food you eat with love and respect, everything feels and tastes better.

I just loved the Panino Porchetta with brown bread, which was served by this man who delivered fantastic service level.
The Panino Porchetta had well balanced taste of pork meat, actually more of the fried pork belly character.
I really like Paninis when it provides more natural taste of good ingredients and not simmerig in sauce or in spices...
We also had opportunity to try few other dishes and these were well prepared too.

If you are looking for a quick lunch near to the Vatican Museum, this might be an excellent place to take a quick bite for a very decent price and enjoy the nice chat with the staff.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Everyone comes here for the sandwiches (and they're damn good for the unbeatable price and flavors), but the 'choose-your-own' buffet is where it's at..

The owner and one-man-band Mario, makes everything fresh every lunchtime, and he'll let you choose whatever you want from his assortment of pasta dishes, roasts, and salads. He usually has something cooked up which he will try to offer. Take him up on it, he cooks really well.

Mario is always a pleasure to interact with (i'm a regular), unless you catch him when there's a queue, in which case don't expect too much acknowledgement. I'll also add that he always shops for the ingredients early every morning at the market, so you know he's not putting out any frozen junk. He prides himself on his homemade approach, and you can really taste it in the food.

Ultimately, meals are a STEAL at Slurp – definitely don't expect to drop more than 6 or 7 euro for food and a beverage, and for the amazing taste, it's hard to beat. I've been coming here weekly for the past 5 months, and will continue to do so until I leave Rome.

Nice bread and soft porchetta. It is a very small place, you eat practically in the street. A glass of red wine and you are done!!

We were looking to grab a quick lunch after visiting the Vatican and discovered Paninoteca Slurp, which proved to be an excellent choice. Food was tasty, Mario was very welcoming and it was all great value for money.
