This apartment is all about location, location, location. Ten minutes walking will get you to Campo di Fiori and its restaurants, coffee shops, fountains, market in the morning and fun and leisure in the afternoon and evenings. Ten minutes in another direction is Piazza Navona. Did anyone say restaurants? The Vatican and the Pantheon are each a short walk away and around the corner are small restaurants, grocery shops, an internet café, pharmacies, taxis and bus station three blocks away.
If that is not enough, we fell in love with the apartment, a cool and welcoming place to relax after a day of exploring the glories of Rome. It is a beautiful apartment with the fifteen foot original ceilings whitewashed, light walls, two large comfortable sofas, two quiet private bedrooms and clean, white bathrooms, both with tubs. It is fully equipped with a small but complete European kitchen, flat-screen TV, adapter plugs for our iPads and laptops, excellent, fast and free wi-fi and two cell phones; all one has to do is buy minutes around the corner.
Fabri, our host, is a marvel and the best reason to recommend this flat to anyone visiting Rome. We kept in touch after we committed to rent and he answered all my questions promptly whether he was in the city or away. We had a couple of minor problems when we arrived, contacted him by telephone and he was up from the country the next morning, spent much of the next day dealing with our concerns, chatting with us and did not leave until he was sure that we were fully satisfied. He treated us to lunch at one of his favorite restaurant as an apology for our very slight inconvenience, a nice gesture one would not usually expect. He gave us recommendations for restaurants and was always one phone call away if we needed him. He is warm, witty and by the time he left, we felt that we had known him all our lives.
We were two couples traveling together and the space, the elegance, the comfort, the incredible convenience of the apartment, its proximity to everything we wanted to see on a five day visit to Rome exceeded anything we had anticipated. Living in a real neighborhood with locals leaving for work in the morning, going about their business and going out to eat at night, it felt like home away from home. We will return (who can see Rome in five days) and we will certainly stay here on our next visit. Thank you Fabri for your friendly professionalism and hospitality!
